Title: And the prices keep falling
Post by: alfsauve on June 29, 2017, 04:40:07 PM
As early as last fall, I heard a LGS clerk say it was cheaper to buy AR's fully assembled than to build you own.

And even more so today.  LGS, Adventure Outdoors (15,000+ guns) has announced a BOGO deal on  DPMS Oracles.  Yes I know, Oracles.  And it includes 120rds of M85.  $699.99.  Or $350/gun.  Rebates involved.

Something isn't adding up for me. After a $75 rebate per rifle off the MSRP of $739.99 they should be $35 less at $664.99, not $699.99.

ETA: The butt of the Oracle stock looks wrong to me. http://www.dpmsinc.com/556-ORACLE_ep_135-1.html

Nothing......just a basic flat-top AR without factory sights.
I slapped a rail fore-end, a dot scope and a set of flip-up irons on mine and have had no issues in four years.

Okay. But msrp has nothing to do with this offer.   Pay $849.99.  Get $150 rebate and you have 2 ARs

If MSRP has nothing to do with it why do they go to the trouble of putting it in the ad? It would have been easier to leave it out.

Cause they're trying to impress you that at MSRP you'd be paying $1,480 for two rifles.  You think they're a real steal.   But you're too smart for them.  You know they wouldn't have sold for MSRP anyway.

Of course I remember during the gas crisis of the late '70s people were paying above MSRP for Honda's.

They do it wo you think you're getting a deal.
I don't know any body who actually pays MSRP.

I actually knew a woman who paid sticker for her car.
