Title: camo targets at Gunsite....
Post by: rocket56 on September 04, 2008, 08:54:35 AM
Why are  the range targets at Gunsite in a Camo pattern? Is there a special purpose for this? Visual versus what?

As I recall from a class there, it was to force you visualize center-of-mass of the target, rather than aiming at a specific feature on the target.

That's correct. As I heard Ed Head explain it, in a self defense situation the bad guy may not be facing you full on, so you have to get used to shooting at center of VISIBLE mass, not center of the chest.
