Title: Who is going to be first to get one of these...Bilt or ???
Post by: Rastus on January 27, 2018, 07:55:33 AM
Man, these pdw's are fine looking.  I don't care if they really shoot or not...they look like something that should be under glass in a museum or a jewelry store.

It's a bit different. But not for me at $3K+, that's for sure. For $1K less I would rather go with one of the new IWI Galil Ace Models in .308.

Bill my wife said I needed to have one of those BAD pdw's.  I'm gonna have to anty up the cash somehow...because of course I don't have a 300 Blackout yet.   8)

Does ATF still take trusts for SBR's?

Yes, but EVERY member of the trust must be photographed and printed for each purchase.

you can build a 7" AR with a LAW folding stock adapter and pistol tube for about $2200 less

They look so sweet I may need some insulin. The mag-well areas look similar to the Saint Edge.

Let's break this down for old gun farts:

.300BLK PDW

.300 = Caliber 30
BLK = Blackout ... I would think

However,

BLK PDW = Black powder  :o

Only question is whether it is percussion cap or flintlock?

PDW= Personal Defense Weapon

in case you are not familiar with the .300 BLK (Blackout) ... it is a 5.56 (.223) case necked up to hold a .30 projectile.. allows projectiles in the 140 grain or better range... needs only a .30 cal barrel as the bolt face is the same, and the cartridges fit in an AR magazine (unlike the heavy tapered 7.62x39 AK round)

Not just necked up but shortened to 1.368 in. (34.7 mm), slightly shorter than a .221 Remington Fireball, 1.400 in. (35.6 mm). More like a necked up Fireball than a 5.56 NATO. Muzzle energy varies by bullet weight and velocity but some are around the same ME as a .44 mag.

You silly people and your toys.

Here's a real PWD.  In a serious caliber.   45/70

Called, btw, the Ladies Home Companion

my attempt at a PDW was to use available non proprietary AR components other than the LAW folding adapter... a 7" PSA 5.56 upper, LAW folding adapter, and PSA pistol lower (pistol tube used with the adapter) gave me a compact unit that could be carried in a gym bag, quickly deployed, and shoulder fired... 2" 100yd accuracy with good ammo

Video: 1990s 45-70 Ladies Home Companion Revolver – Worst Handgun Ever?
Massive, impractical, poorly-made... and strangely enticing.

There may have been a .410 bore version too.

Well...yeah I get it there are more practical options.  And...to that point, I already have two PS-90's for PDW's that I dearly love.

However, how can you not love a "face" and "bod" that looks like this:

I do not like them. They  look way too fancy

They don't really do anything for me in the aesthetics department ....... they look cumbersome.
That being said, I wouldn't turn down a free one.  ;D

The butt doesn't look like it belongs with the rest of it. It's too cheap looking.
