What are your thoughts on the Super Bowl, or the Stupid Bowl, as I like to call it?
The pregame shows started at noon Eastern Time, and the game is scheduled to run from 6-10 pm, with a 15 minute post game show. Most football games on TV run overtime and I don't expect the Super Bowl to be an exception. And the post game shows often run longer than scheduled too. The expected time of the whole affair is 10 hours and 15 minutes but could easily be longer. To me, sitting there for 10-11 hours watching all that for a single game is stupid. That's a lot of time that could be spent on doing something important. Or wasted in a better way.
In the past 4 years people have been losing interest in football. The number of white people who follow the NFL closely is down 12%. The number of white men is down 22%. The number of republicans is down 15%. I'll bet the number of white republican men is even lower.

I spent most of the day cleaning, sorting, throwing, packing, throwing, packing, throwing, cleaning, ...
I did not have the pre-game on, but did tune in just before Carrie Underwood put on her act. The tribute to the Nation was well done, but they were very careful with their camera angles. It looked like everyone stood, but you could tell they weren't going to take a chance on seeing someone kneeling or sitting it out.
I didn't see much of the game, but could hear it. It sounded good, and the glimpses I saw were good football. I saw the Eagles' last TD, but missed the Pats' fumble and actually the final Eagles' TD. I then watched the final four plays.
As far as a football game, I think it was far better than many lopsided exhibitions that have been put on, but, even though I like football, the NFL has messed it up and turned me off to the point I just can't get excited anymore.
Amazing what can happen when you forget your role, entertainment and escape from the daily grind, and try to become some sort of political or social justice educator.

Perhaps it's me, but I saw zero talent in that halftime show. It looked and sounded like a bunch of disorganized noise. You could not understand a single lyric. Worst Super Bowl Halftime Show I ever saw.

Weird feeling, like they were slugging it out; that things were moving slowly. And yet:
Most offensive yards
Most missed PATs
1 punt
1 sack
1 fumble
1 QB reception for touchdown
and I'm sure some other records.

I still don't know who's playing and I still don't care. I spent all day yesterday trying to buy a box truck. Funny thing new car dealers just don't want to deal with people that have cash.

They don't know how! Everything is based off free financing or leasing for people who can't afford what they want.
Son-In-Law went by the Audi dealer and looked at a new RS7. He had researched it, and wanted one. As he looked at it, and wanted to sit in it, a salesman got a little snooty about the cost and affording it. At this point he moved past just sitting in it to asking if they had a demo on the lot he could try out. At this point snooty asked about financial arrangements needing to be in place before he could even test drive a demo or used one. This was the point where Max asked, "What do you take? Check, Cash, Wire Transfer?"
They went back that evening and he drove it home.
Even high end dealers, who deal with people that have the liquid assets to purchase with cash, still are accustomed to those who can't or don't want to pay.

it was not just that they did not know how, I could have bought the truck 9k cheaper if I financed it with 2k down and paid it off on the 1st payment. I told them, make me that same deal and I will make 1 payment right now.
I would much rather buy a used one for way less as it won't see that much use, but for tax purposes it has to be new. one of those things by spending 4x as much I actually have more money in my pocket.(figure that one out)

I went through the exact same thing when I bought our new Jeep Grand Cherokee. They tried to talk me into "0% Financing". I wouldn't go for it, because after we negotiated the price, he tried to jack it up with the 0%. I ended up buying it, then paying it off the following month. I ended up with the good price, but what a PITA! Don't EVER fall for 0% Financing. It's one of the biggest scams going at dealerships. These ass wipes make buying a new car rank right up there with getting fillings drilled without Novocain.

It could be the best halftime show ever, or the very worst, and I wouldn't know either way. I've never seen one.

Totally different perspective here. I've been a casual Eagles fan since I started taking a casual interest in sports. Down at the tip of NJ we are in the Philly sphere of influence and some of those guys are around here occasionally. Over the years we've met a couple of them and they've always been very nice people. One day my son John (at @12 years old) met John Runyan, who was very nice to my John in spite of the fact that he was the most massive human being I've ever seen, before or since.
So I was pissed about the kneeling and all that and the NFL is a crap organization. I watched maybe 3 Eagles games this season if the weather was too nasty for the range. Real casual.
However...after years and years and years of casually following a team that ALWAYS could snatch defeat from the arms of victory, I was not going to deny myself the pleasure of watching them play the big game for only the second time since I've been aware of it. Good story, a bunch of God-fearing kids trusting their faith to bring them through and they won. Maggie and I watched and hooted and hollered like real fans and it was a blast. AND they beat the Darth Vader of NFL football, so it was fun.

I watched with my “anyone in the NFC over the Pats” attitude.
Good game, meh halftime, lame commercials...
I wonder where Foles will play next year?

He's not talking...I'm sure they'd love to keep him as a backup, but he'll probably get some good offers or something.

He’s getting a gaudy bauble soon! His value has gone up substantially...
-
Consensus I'm hearing is to make him the highest paid backup QB with a contract that spans a few years. Makes sense to me...he earned something pretty from the City and organization.
-
There’s also the Wentz return question to consider... will he be healthy?

I saw a picture of Roger Goodell's cake for the party......
