This is what the blacks did in South Africa. Threw rocks and got bullets back. This Superintendent should consult a history book, as to how well that worked out for them.

They don’t teach history anymore!

Sticks and stones may break my bones,
but bullets could give me piercings in places I don't want them.
They're worse off than the guys on Monty Python.

Might be better if they are big enough to hide behind

If I was in a room full of people and one of them had a gun, when he was choosing his next victim I wouldn't be attracting his attention and making even angrier by throwing rocks at him. It may not be the worst thing you could possibly do, but it's got to be near the top of the list.
P.S. Could this inspire cuts in military spending? Who needs guns when you have a bucket of rocks in the closet?

Unless you have the skill of David with a sling and the Divine power behind you, I'm going to think carefully about just what I might accomplish by poking the bear.

It worked for James Garner in Support your local sheriff, But seriously, Think about this. If you have a couple of people throwing rocks at your head your aim will be way off, Plus it would allow a teacher to attack from a different angle and hopefully knock the shooter down and disarm him. Just like using a fire extinguisher to blind the shooter then hitting them in the head really hard with it.

:) I saw yet another show last night where they used a fire extinguisher as a weapon. In Hollywoodland they seem to be everywhere, but of the dozens of times I've seen them used, they were very rarely used on fires.
P.S. While other people stand there throwing rocks at the gunman I'll be escaping in a different direction.
