Read these through. They're important. Your help is needed now more than ever...
Rules for the Non -Military
Dear Civilians, 'We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation has many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:
1. The next time you see any adults talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem - kick their ass.
2.When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest - kick their ass.
3.Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass.
4.(GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) or Jungle Fatigues, telling others that you used to be 'Special Forces,' and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay when you were seven years old. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.
5.Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, 'Do you fly a jet?' Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass-kicking (children are exempt).
6.If you witness someone calling the US Coast Guard 'non-military', inform them of their mistake - and kick their ass.
7.Next time Old Glory (the US flag) prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her - of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass-kicking.
8.Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran. We are Americans, and we all bleed the same, regardless of our party affiliation. Our Chain of Command is to include our Commander-In-Chief (CinC). The President (for those who didn't know) is our CinC regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those representatives meet All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. If you keep asking us the same stupid questions repeatedly, you will get your ass kicked!
9.'Your mama wears combat boots' never made sense to me - stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore could kick your ass!
10. bin Laden and the Taliban are not Communists, so stop saying 'Let's go kill those Commies!' And stop asking us where he is! Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me- if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers, let me know, so I can go kick their ass!
11. 'Flyboy' (Air Force), 'Jarhead' (Marines), 'Grunt' (Army), 'Squid' (Navy), 'Puddle Jumpers' (Coast Guard), etc., are terms of endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. Using them could get your ass kicked.
12. Last, but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get it's ass kicked.'
'It's the Veteran, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.'
'It's the Veteran, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech..'
'It's the Veteran, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.'
'It's the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.'
One more:
13. If you ever see anyone either standing for or singing the national anthem in Spanish - KICK THEIR ASS.
ONE MORE:
If you got this email and didn't pass it on - guess what - you deserve to get your ass kicked!

One of the best out there, glad to see it again, it needs to be rotated every 2 weeks until Nov.

My dad would too if he was still around. And HE WOULD kick their ass. No doubt about it.

Great post, Haz....and, perfect timing too.
I just got in from bringing my father-in-law back from the VA hospital where he had spent the night for a blood treatment, and this sort of hit the mark today. My wife and I are the only family members that take him there and back when he needs to go and we see a lot of the same Veterans there each time (most go out of their way to speak to us before we can speak to them).
We regard them all as Heroes and you can still see the pride in their eyes.
Thanks for the post, and thanks to ALL Veterans and Active duty personnel.
-
I love seeing this when it gets passed around.
-
Done and been done, number 2 would be a little harsher Im afraid. Great Email..

Personally, all this talk about "Kicking Ass" is childish. I did not spend some of the best years of my life in uniform, defending the freedoms this country cherishes, threatening to kick some miscreant's ass over some slight. If they fail to show proper respect, then politely inform them of their error. Most do not even realize they are at fault. Many just need to be educated (or exposed).
Serving your country means defending the rights of individuals enumerated in the B O R, EVEN IF THEY DISAGREE WITH YOU.
We veterans are better than that, we should set the example.
-
We do.

Getting off-subject, this reminds me of being in a bar in Yokohama and one side of the bar calling the other side Squids and the Squids calling the other Jarheads. Big old bar fight with bunch of MPs and Japanese police coming in. Semper Fi to all my little Navy brothers.
-
I'm a squid, my brothers were squids, my daddy was a squid as well. My best friend is a jarhead, another friend is a grunt and I've known several flyboys, one of whom owns a Distinguished Flying Cross. I lived in the New London area so I've known a few puddle jumpers as too...
I would stand beside each and every one of them and proudly defend the rights of those who cannot defend themselves. It's what makes me who I am and what makes every Veteran my brother!
It's what makes me an American! It's what makes us all Americans!

Been there done that ;D, only in the Med. My Dad had 2 brothers WWII Navy, He and I are the only 2 Marines in a Navy family, Makes Family reunions interesting ;D
Harmony Hermit, You need to note somethings, 1) there is no such thing as freedom of expression The Constitution guarantees the right to Free speech and freedom of the press, If I see some lowlife burning an American flag I WILL kick the crap out of him, and around here the responding Officer will sight the slimeball for inciting a riot.
2) Freedom of speech and freedom of the press do not legitimize slander, libel or treason.
3) These "Miscreants" as you call them, only insult our nation and our service because the socialists and media have convinced them that actions have no consequences, this is reinforced by "polite society" turning away and not educating them to the fact that actions DO have consequences, in the presence of those of us from less polite segments of society those consequences often involve getting the sh!t beat out of you.

Why aren't people who burn the flag deported, with their citizenship revoked? If they think it's so bad here we'd be doing them a favor. It's better than the death by stoning they might get in another country.
P.S. I wasn't a grunt. I was a REMF. Rear Echelon M***** F*****. At least that's what the grunts said. ;D
Another thing that may get your ass kicked is calling a Flyboy a Wing-Nut. Some of them don't like it. ;)

I was entering a store the other day with my hat on, it has a USMC emblem, I held the door for the couple behind me, as the lady walked in and said thank you her husband (must have been Navy ) said something about "Sea going bell hops". So I let the door go in his face ;D
-
Hot damm, Tom, I knew you would do the right thing. Great definition of freedom of speech and of the press.
As a Marine grunt, we called everybody else REMFs. As long as we were in the same batallion or regiment then we would go and get drunk. Just don't call our Corpsmen a Squid.
-
Corpsmen are Marines with funny ranks insignia.

LOL. Good for you Tom. He's the kind of guy who would call a stewardess flight attendant a "flying waitress". It may be funny if you're joking around with your buddies but not funny if you really mean it.
