I saw this and I like what it appears to bring to the table. Do you guys have any recommendations for quick access vehicle pistol holders?

I use either a shoulder holster, or IWB cross draw.
Plenty of access when I'm sitting.

" the console vault " is what i had installed in my truck. It was grrat for when i had to take it off, or carrying was not practical. If i knew i was driving long distances i used cross draw or a shpulder holster. Make sure ypu practice drawing. I had one shoulder holster that always gave me issues with the seat belt, thr pther was fine

I carry IWB at 3:00... clears the seat belt, but I need to pull out the cover up shirt I wear
I carry the G17 and Recover Tactical brace in a gym bag on the floor, that has a shoulder strap if necessary to carry away...

I should have added more information but I was using my phone and was tired of typing. This is for my wife. She needs something easy...this appears to be pretty easy.

How are the roads where you live? There isn't a magnet strong enough that would fit under my dash that could hold a pistol when driving around my hometown. We have too many potholes and frost heave/cracking. Maybe a permanent mount of an actual holster with trigger protection and some retention?
-
I like that idea I'll need to run it by my wife and she what she thinks. We don't really have potholes...just a lot of washboard road coming in...which is plenty bad in and of itself.

the one handed charging concept caught my attention.... I keep a G45 in the console not charged... I had an extra slide racker from the Recover Tactical kits that I did not use with the dot sights, so stuck it on the G45... pick up, and charge the pistol on the edge of the console...
a little expensive as a stand alone, but had two lying around... but does the job well for my intent

Living in Illinois, and working in Chicago, means that concealed is king. I like a magnet that is that strong for retention. Currently I just take the holster out of my pocket and place the holstered gun under my thigh. I can draw with my righthand very easy without any contortions.
As far as racking the slide, I always carry loaded, so that is not an issue.

My mind instantly went to Quad .50s. I guess I'm old school, but in the case of quad .50s, Old School Rocks! 🤘 Rock On Dudes!!! In Vietnam they also mounted these on the back of short-bed drop-side 5-ton cargo trucks if I'm not mistaken. I remember seeing pics of them mounted on some kind of cargo truck somewhere but the details are fuzzy.

On a regular car you could quad-mount .50s in a turret on the roof, but they'd have to be Desert Eagles instead of Ma Deuces.

When I saw that video my first thought was, if you need to rack the slide you're carrying it wrong. Several days ago I was thinking, what would be the easiest holster to draw from when you're driving? My conclusion was it's a chest rig. It may be nice when you're handgun hunting with big iron, but maybe not so great for every day open carry, and not easy to conceal if you aren't wearing a down parka. BTW, a couple of the agents in the Miami shootout had their handguns under their thigh. The keyword there is HAD, before they were in a car chase or collision. I personally haven't been involved in many car chases but I've had way more than my share of collisions. Stated simply, s*it goes flying, and as those FBI agents found out before they were shot, you can't always find those things when you need them. I've hit potholes hard enough to bounce my foot off the gas pedal. My left foot tends to stay more planted but still bounces if I get jarred hard enough, and I'm not sure how well a pistol would stay put under either thigh with the car-swallowing potholes we have. If we had good roads, and I never crashed into other vehicles, by accident or on purpose, it wouldn't be a problem.

I wonder if you could put a full length guide-rod for a Government Model in a Commander to serve as a muzzle standoff? That would give you 3/4" if it worked which would be better than 0". Not for ankle carry, but concealed elsewhere. Use your imagination. :o
Someone already makes 3 different size muzzle standoff devices for various Glocks. https://www.proofmarkllc.com/shop/muzzle-stand-off-device-msd-g19

Just add a flash light that sticks an inch out past the front of the muzzle. Gives you the muzzle standoff.

There are a bazillion 1911s out there without rails to mount a flashlight on.
