The United States Army celebrated its 246th birthday yesterday. I forgot about it this year, but I'll be celebrating the 250th birthday in 2025. It's easy to forget since I don't see people posting about it like they do the younger, smaller Marines Corps' birthday. I think it's just a case of the new kid always getting more attention. ;)

The difference is that the US Army could not exist before the US did, where as the Marine Corps were basically a bunch of pirates and they didn't need an actual "country".
And THAT is why the Navy and Marines are the Senior Service, we've been doing OUR thing along the coasts a lot longer than the Army. ;D ;D
