I've counseled mid-aged guys who've been let go from corporate America on how to get a job at a big box.
Fill out a manual application, not one on-line.
Insist on handing it to the manager personally.
Tell the manager you'll be happy to do whatever work is assign, on whatever shift you're needed. And, that you'll show up sober, on-time and with a positive attitude every time.
I also tell them to dress ready to work. Comfy shoes, work slacks a button down shirt tucked in.
Some have been hired on the spot. The rest had to wait a day.

Look at the rim joist, not a single fasner visible. No nails, screws or brackets.
Must have been one of those drive by inspections....
