I picked up a box of ammo and gun parts at UPS and went to the hardware store from there. Since I was driving past Freakin' Unbelievable Burgers on the way home, and hadn't eaten in 12 hours, I went in for a takeout order. This is what I saw when I walked back out. The parking block stop behind me was missing and I was backed in a couple feet beyond where it should have been. Into the "no man's land" between 2 parking lots that have a drive-up ATM and a long empty space between them. Someone still hit me way back there. In the second picture it looks like a pickup or SUV with a 2" hitch receiver backed right into it from about 20' away. Since it was on private property I have to pay the deductible on my comprehensive insurance if I get it fixed. :-[ If I was parked on the street when it happened it would be a hit and run, and no-fault would cover it.
I called 911 and spoke to a very pleasant lady who sent a Flint Twp. officer out to take a report. The cop was a really likeable young man. Too bad more of the police aren't like him. I was the same easy to get along with person I normally am IRL.
P.S. After I posted I realized my vanity plate was in full view, so I did a real quick edit.

Sorry to see that. I've gotta get one of those cameras in my car. Some of them work on G force detection which would have ripped a video of the thief who hit you...yes thief because they stole from you by not stepping up to pay for their mistake.

I didn't know they had them that were g-force activated, but I know car-cams have saved drivers a lot of grief over all kinds of accidents, bad cops, etc. Have you seen videos of pedestrians "hit" by cars where they either just fall down or jump on the hood of the car after it stops? That's why they have so many dash-cams in Russian cars. So many people trying to cheat others out of money, and not take responsibility for their actions. It's too bad people who do this kind of stuff never get what they deserve. In this lifetime, at least. Maybe in the next.

Frank, do a youtube search for bumper repair. I've seen dents like that "fixed" good 'nuff with a heat gun.

I'm going to have to call my insurance agent. The cop said I wouldn't have to, he was sending all the information to my agent and my agent would contact me. I'm still waiting. I'll talk to one of my friends about it who works on cars and see what he says.
