Title: Looking For an Austin, TX, Area Range Recommendation
Post by: Rastus on October 12, 2023, 06:54:01 PM
One of my boys is working out of Austin, TX.  Can any of you recommend an outdoor range in the area?  He'll drive an hour or so if needed.  The only thing he knows of in his area are indoor ranges that pretty much force you to shoot bullseye speeds and stances to meet their safety regs.

I don't, but let me give you/him a way.

Go to USPSA, IDPA, ICORE, SASS web sites and follow their links to clubs.

Also, go to Practiscore and search for matches in the Austin area.  Granted some will be indoors but following up each club/match link should yield a list of outdoor clubs.

In the back on American Rifleman and American Hunter magazines they always have A Place To Shoot. That's one place to look. And you can look here to find places for recreational shooting, competitive shooting, clubs and associations,  and all kinds of other stuff.
