Bug-A-Salt has a lot of sales, almost constantly it seems, but this is better than usual. The Shred-Er has enough power to kill wasps and things the other "salt weapons" just p*** off. But, the 3.5 works great on flies and boxelder bugs from 2-3 feet away. I get lots of boxelder bugs on the south side of my house but haven't seen them yet this year. I think they overwinter under my siding and come out to sun themselves in summer.

I saw a video on YouTube last night where a guy put a piece of plastic tubing from a sprinkler system on his old Bug-A-Salt. It's like an extended choke tube and gives him a few more inches of effective range. I'm going to see what I have in the basement I can try to stick on mine. It will be a challenge since I only have 1/2" of length to work with because the Bug Beam. The Bug-A-Salt Widow Maker is cool in a way. I like the VFG, but I wouldn't get one, unless it was like now when the introductory price is only 5 cents more than the regular price of a 3.0.

Last night I made an extended choke/barrel extension for my Deadly Salt Weapon (are they banned yet?). I took a piece of 3/4" O.D. steel conduit 3 1/2" long and pounded a 3" long piece of 1/2" I.D. ABS water line own into it as far as I could. It came up 1 1/4" from being flush, so I cut 1 1/4" more off the conduit, leaving a 1/2" space to fit over the 1/2" of "barrel" protrusion that's left with the Bug Beam laser attached to the muzzle. Now I have a 3" barrel extension starting flush with the muzzle. I globbed on a heavy layer of spray paint and let it run over the joint between the plastic and steel to seal it up. Instead of my shot dispersing immediately, it should stay more focused, giving me a longer range. I got the idea for the mod from this guy.

P.S. I'm think about sanding it smooth where the paint ran, and buying a can of fluorescent orange spray paint to re-paint it to better match the gun. It needs more paint anyway. It may as well be the right color.

Really? What about live and let live? How long will flies be persecuted for being flies?
This is murder. From the turd to the throne, flies will be free.

Say what you want, but Beelzebub is the Lord of the Flies, and I kill as many of his $#!t-eating minions as I can when they're in my house or on the picnic table, etc. Otherwise, their offspring are very important in the breaking down of waste that we would soon be neck-deep in without vermin like them. I just wish they would gobble up all the cat poop in my yard a lot faster. Flies have their place, but around my food isn't it. Just like the spiders in my house are welcome to stay in my horror-show of a basement and duke it out with the house centipedes. I'm REALLY rooting for the spiders, but they better stay in the basement if they know what's good for them. My salt weapon is astraddle the top of the wastebasket next to my left knee, ready to pop any house centipede that scurries across the wall behind my monitor. And if a spider tries rappelling in my face, well, he done messed up.
The muzzle extension is in the basement with a fresh coat of paint on it. The old paint wasn't quite dry enough to sand, but I sanded it down anyway and wiped it down with rubbing alcohol.

They make an EZ-Cock Model 2.6 now. I guess it's an improvement over the 2.5, but not up to the power of a 3.0 or WIDOW MAKER 3.5. It comes with a free BUG-BEAM laser while supplies last.
