Well, looking for a 9mm and I am leaning toward Browning HP as I like 1911 style SA firearms. Not sure though, local gun store has nice P95 and Smith 59 both for good price, any thoughts?

My opinion is that they are all tried & true guns. Given my druthers I'd get the Hi Power.

I had a S&W model 669, compact version of the 59 in Stainless years ago, it was a good pistol.

I'd have to see how they feel in my hand. Without knowing that I think my first choice would be the S&W and my second choice the HP, but my first thought was just the opposite. I like the looks of the P95 a lot better than the older Rugers but would probably choose it last.

I love the HP. It fits my hand perfectly and points true. Its weakness is that it is single action only, like the 1911.
The 59 series is good but bulky. Rugers are just cheap guns, roughlly made and terrible triggers.
Have you looked at the S&W MP? It is also a natural fit to me. I like it better than the Glock.

Well, thanks for all the advice and suggestions, I have decide to go with the HP. I really don't like the DA/SA of the 59 and the Ruger. Never have liked that trigger transition. One or the other is ok, but one to the other doesn't work too well. Not getting this as a carry gun just wanted a nine in my collection. The HP has steel and bluing and history, the other two well are just plain old pistols. Besides the HP is legendary and work s just like a 1911. So thanks for all the advice HP it is!

The HP is classy. Good choice to add to your collection. :)
