I know there are many opinions both ways on this situation, and there will be a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth, but OUR CONSTITUTIONAL SYSTEM IS WORKING!
Yesterday the judge threw Baldwin's case out due to misconduct by the prosecutors. It will also have an effect on the armorer and her conviction. I'm sure both of these cases will be reassessed, and in the end justice will prevail. However, these prosecutors were just served notice that we have protection under the law.
The key to this is that in the midst of testimony the prosecutors brought forth evidence that they hid from the defense during the required pre-trial disclosures. They tried to explain it away as not important to the prosecution and not changing the facts, but if that is true, why did they conceal it and then bring it out in front of the jury?
Nobody is doing victory laps over this, because even with the ruling the charges are still hanging. The prosecution will regroup, answer for anything that may come up on an appeal from the armorer's team, and then bring Baldwin back in.
Regardless of what we feel and believe about anybody in this sad situation, we should all be glad and thankful that our Constitutional protections exist and are being honored. There are rules, and they must be followed!

As I understand it, the case was dismissed with prejudice, meaning the prosecution CANNOT refile the same charges against Baldwin. Too bad they messed up, that SOB needs to do time for this. Such an egregious violation of the gun safety laws, and his defense was mainly "I'm an actor, I'm special, I don't have to follow the rules!"
Hopefully the civil cases will hurt him, although mostly the insurance companies will likely bear the load.

Extreme Prejudice! Correct. That was not in the first two reports I read, but when I came in from yard work there were three new stories that all stated "Prejudice" and "Extreme Prejudice." Judge not only dismissed charges, but blasted the prosecution, VERY strongly.

He needs to account for the unsafe environment he as a producer allowed to take place on the set. She, as armorer, is responsible for the live round in the gun. However, Baldwin, as an actor getting ready to shoot scene, being handed a gun that should not have been loaded, possibly shouldn’t have been prosecuted.

I believe that this is the case, as producer, that will be brought in civil suits.

The dismissal was right, the with prejudice is not.
