I thought this was a grea5 idea. The 10-8 Performance Recoil Spring Plug has a concave so you can use practically anything to press it in and it won't slip. They make Government and Commander lengths in stainless steel with a natural finish. The picture shows it with their Barrel Bushing for 1911 Government Model, all calibers. Machined from stainless steel with natural finish.

Some other plugs I was looking at before were the monogrammed plugs EGW makes. They only have a groove at the top that indexes them to the barrel bushing. And they make long nose ball end spring plugs to be used with their Thick Flange, Melt, or Carry Bevel bushings. They come in blue or stainless.
