Title: Electronic Ignition Muzzleloader
Post by: gunman42782 on May 18, 2007, 08:08:52 AM
Just seen an add in American Hunter for a new muzzleloader, the CVA Electra (http://www.cva.com/index.htm).  This thing has an electronic ignition system!!  I remember when Remington came out with something similar in their centerfire rifle line, and it went over like a lead baloon.  I predict the same fate for the CVA.  I mean, in-lines are one thing, but jeeze, electronic ignition on a muzzleloader????

Just to make it clear, I have no problem with in-line muzzleloaders, I have two myself. I have no problem really with this electronic ignition, I just think it is a really dumb idea! If someone wants one fine. It still is a muzzleloader, it still only shoots one shot at a time, etc.

Not legal for muzzle loader season in FL.

Is it not legal because of ignition type, because it is in-line, or because they haven't figured how to classify it?

Because of ignition type.  I read about about 6 months ago or so.
