Me 1000 rounds of 556 Winchester white box. I did it mainly for the lake city brass.
The other had an extra $200 tax stamp. Surefire 556 socom rc2 https://www.surefire.com/socom556-rc2/ primary arms had them 450 off.
The misses got something sparkling and way more expensive. I love when they don't drop hints, they send you a link and say I want this for xmas.

For the longslide: Slide, barrel bushing, trigger, ejector, assorted tools. Only need sights and ignition system, then ready to start assembly.
For the Charger MWS: Rapidex knob for the rear sight. Come on, do you REALLY see 007 futzing with a tool to adjust a rifle sight in one of the movies when dialing a knob is both more cinematic tension-building AND less 'one more dependency vulnerable to loss'?
Assorted crap around the house: Some "botanicals collection" and Christmas Lego sets my mother wanted, and one *I* wanted but missed the original back in '89 and as it was ALMOST missed out on getting the "remastered" edition.
Now I gotta figure out something nice for the fuzzballs... they won't use nestboxes preferring neighbors' trees, or I'd try to build them some nice toasty ones with good insulation and solar-powered heating.

Flashlights, knives, ammo. The usual stuff. Plus a Tire Hero Wireless Air Pump/Portable Tire Inflator, and various cables and things form Statik. A PROOF wallet made by the guys at Milspin. Some stuff from Thrym. A Titanium KeySmart Rugged and other stuff from KeySmart. A pair of Enchroma sunglasses that are supposed to correct red-green color blindness. I guess I don't see green very well so that's called Deutan. If you don't see red very well that's Protan. They make sunglasses for each that are supposed to help with the red and green cones overlapping in your eyeballs. If you're blue-yellow color blind it's called Tritan and you're screwed. But at least none of the 3 conditions is total color blindness. I bought a bunch of other stuff, either during the sales or right before, including a bunch of stuff from Nite Ize. I even got my friends' dogs a color-changing ball for Christmas they can chase around.

I'm still waiting for my Woobie Hoodie Pullover to ship from Texas. It's made from the same stuff as a G.I. poncho liner. Why is a poncho liner called a woobie? Because you woobie cold without it. ;) The term could be from the name for a kid's security blanket in the 1983 movie Mr. Mom. Poncho liners weigh practically nothing, can be stuffed and compressed in a small space, are quick drying, and will even keep you warm when they're wet. They have ties on the corners that can be attached to the grommets of a poncho, making a lightweight sleeping bag. Sadly, we weren't issued poncho liners when I was in the army, but one of my roommates in Germany had one on his bed. The other 3 of us had blankets we bought from some guy in a van. Mine is on my bed now, 42 years later.

How much do veterans like their woobies? Here's Mat Best singing about it. He's a former United States Army Ranger who served five deployments with the 2nd Ranger Battalion, before working as a private contractor for the Central Intelligence Agency. He's also a co-founder of Black Rifle Coffee Company.

I never heard anything about that. My information sources are limited.

Leftist source, but Hafer tried to stick a shiv in Kyle Rittenhouse.

Have I mentioned lately how bad the post office sucks? This is what they did to my package from Thyrm when they delivered it on the 6th. The box used to have a square corner, but it had a radius of several inches by the time it got here.

I'm still waiting for my hoodie to ship. Shipping Label Created, 12-06-24. That's the same day the post office in Detroit got my package from Nite Ize and shipped it out. It should have been here on the 7th, but it's been on it's way to the next destination from the 6th until today when it showed up at the DENVER CO DISTRIBUTION CENTER and they shipped it back out. Maybe the next time they get it in Detroit they'll send it the last 60 miles, without a 2,540 mile detour. >:(
My roomie in Germany wasn't the only one using a poncho liner for a blanket. I found this picture of a guy in the air farce that did the same thing. We had to make our beds properly in the army. Maybe it's optional in the air force. After we made our beds and had the blanket and dust cover tucked in tight and everything was done right, we could put our own blanket on top, unless some big-shot came by for inspection. Then our blankets would be folded up and stored away.

Went to LGS to chrono some loads. Always take a gander at the inventory, when, wow. Wait. Is that a 10/22 NIB? $219? Let me count out the money right now.
I don't know why the sudden low prices. Most places are $279 or typically $300+ for a basic model. This is very basic. Synthetic stock. Tapered barrel with no front sight. Perfect for my iron sight Rimfire & Steel Challenge build out. The sales rep was trying to talk me into it by describing all the features and functions. I finally had to, politely, tell him to stop. All I want is the receiver and bolt. Let's just get on with the paper work. Which btw, they've upgraded to an on-line system, which is the first on-line one I've seen that is very slick and easy to fill out. I've done this routine at Academy and Cabela's and it's very stodgy (Paul Hollywood work for clunky). This system had big, bold fonts, easy to figure out and select choices. Completed in less time and I could do paper. The staff said to bring it in once I get it built out. Duh, I'll need to sight-in.
Miss Kitty has been bugging me about getting something else she can give me for Christmas. No, no, this isn't it. But what is IT: I ordered the 11.5oz TK barrel (in red), the TK FO sights, the BX2 trigger from Ruger and the Hogue Tactical stock (which Amazon doesn't carry, probably because it's a dreaded thumbhole stock). Merry Christmas to me. Yeah, the $200 gun will cost me $$$$ by the time I'm done, but it's mine and my configuration which will match my optic mounted one. I'll be back in business for Rimfire Rifle Optic and Irons.
Oh, anybody need a tapered 10/22 barrel (no front sight, not threaded), or a standard synth stock, or a standard trigger assembly?

I finally started using my PROOF wallet. My bi-fold wallet is 2 1/2 times the size. I left a few things out, like the cheap imitation of an Iain Sinclair CardSharp 2. But I have everything I need. Other slim wallets, minimalist wallets, and RFID blocking wallets I looked at before didn't hold half as much. Some only held 6 cards, with no room for your car's registration or proof of insurance, etc. These are RFID blocking, with a solid metal plate on one side, and an additional internally embedded RFID blocking material on the other side. The pull tab on the front lifts your cards up so you don't have to dig for them. It's a slick setup. I don't like tap to pay credit cards and would fry all my cards in the microwave oven if it didn't destroy the magnetic strip too.

My package that was shipped form Detroit to Denver got there on the 11th and made it to Indianapolis, IN on the 12th. It's heading the right direction again 5 days after it should have been here. The post office won't even guess when it will be here. My woobie hoodie finally left Killeen, TX on the 12th and made it to Austin on the 13th. They're saying it should be here Monday.

There is a reason I only bring the amount of cash I need when I go into a toy store. I save alot of money that way... the only bad part is some times I go home and and come back with more money.
I have officially stopp3d buying projects until I get all the ones I have now done. 4 ars waiting on parts to come back in stock is a bit much. I refuse to buy a 10/22 as I know the rabbit hole i will swan dive into if I get started.
-
Was the 10/22 the original Lego for adults? Mine still has most of it's original internal parts, but a different stock and sights, and a new barrel. I still have my original mag from back in the '70s but rebuilt it.

Michael’s written review of the Ruger RXM touches on the DIY ecosystem. 10/22 is certainly one of the early ones, maybe the Camp 9/45, the 1911 had limited options way back, and limited market. The Sig 250, 320 and 365 certainly, but as Michael says, the AR was the what really made the DIY market take off. The Mark IV is catching up, though the receiver/barrel being the controlled part puts a limit on it.
-
I hadn't heard of the RXM before. Ruger X Magpul. I'll be looking into it.
The post office sent one of my packages from Indianapolis to CHARLESTON WV PROCESSING CENTER today are are saying it's expected to get to my house by 9 pm today. The mail probably came 4 or 5 hours ago, so I know it's not going to make it here from WV. The package they sent from Detroit to Denver ended up in Detroit again yesterday. AFAIK it hasn't move since then. They're saying that and 2 other packages will be here Monday, but the last know locations are Texas and Washington, DC.
-
My package that went from Detroit to Denver and back to Detroit landed in Flint Saturday. Monday, it was in transit to it's next location, and there's STILL no estimated delivery date. I wonder where in the world it's headed this time? Three packages arrived in Detroit today. One says it's expected to get here today, which isn't going to happen. One says tomorrow which is possible. And the other one? They're not saying how many more days I should expect it to take to travel the last 60 miles.
-
I got my ammo today.
Can should be ready for pick up the first or second week in January.

I got a titanium KeySmart Rugged key holder that holds up to 14 keys. I had to leave a couple of keys out, but have a 64 MB flash drive in with my keys.

I wore my woobie hoodie outside for the first time today. Nothing under it and nothing over it just to try it out. It was a little below freezing and it was comfortable for the few minutes I was outside. But I don't think I'd want to be out a long time in it when it's really cold. It's like a field jacket liner without the field jacket, for those of you familiar with them. I'm going to take the liner out of my field jacket and try it on over the hoodie, if it still fits me.

FoldAR has rifles, rifle uppers, and pistol uppers on sale now. Here are a few highlights. $1,000 for a brand new folding rifle is a good deal. A pistol upper and pistol brace lower with a Dead Foot Arms fire while folded systen makes for a very short double-folder. You can have one that's less than 11" long and fits in a small backpack.

I have a Pilar Frame Lock Folding EDC Pocket Knife, Drifter Liner Lock Folding EDC Pocket Knife, Techliner Super Shorty Pen, and Schmidt Megaline 4889 M Refill for it on order at CRKT. The pen was less than half price, about 54.5% off.
The SCHMIDT pressurized ball point refill cartridge enables not only writing upside down, but also in the most extreme environmental conditions at high speeds. The air tight system gives these refills a literally unlimited shelf-life. They are equipped with a stainless steel tip manufactured with the upmost precision as well as special ink pastes developed exclusively for SCHMIDT MegaLine pressurized refills. Write Anywhere: Ink cartridge developed for anti-gravity atmosphere. Refills Techliner and Williams Defense Pens.
I couldn't justify spending 100 bucks on an A.P.C. (Always. Pocket. Carry.) knife, even though it was 75 bucks off. Likewise, I decided not to get a CEO Compact Black / S35VN Steel / Carbon Fiber Handle knife for 80 bucks ($25 off). I think I already have a CEO Compact made with 1.4116 Steel / Glass-Reinforced Nylon Handle, but I don't see it lying around, so maybe not. I can't keep track of all my knives.

I thought I ordered one of those Tire Hero air pumps, but I guess not. Anyway, PROOF Wallets have Bolt Upgrade Kits available in Nickel Silver and Gold color. I got the Gold set and put them on my wallet. They didn't make the OD Green ballistic nylon Operator wallet when I got mine, or I would have bought that instead of the carbon fiber. That's what our flak vests were made of when I was in the army, and I know it's a tough, long wearing material. That one would probably look good with silver screws on it.

Considering this past Friday was a Black Friday with the boycott, I decided to buy something.
Ryobi isn’t exactly on the top of the quality-durability list and one of my drills died last month so I had decided to start changing over to Milwaukee as I purchase replacements. Since I have another drill, I instead replaced the 50 year old Black and Decker corded hedge trimmer. The bearings are so bad it’s almost shaking itself apart. Used an $80 rebate coupon plus they threw in a circular saw with the charger/battery. It didn’t sting too much but I did make a statement. I’ll save the drill set for my birthday.
