Please tell us why you picked what you did.
Now this is in a very gun friendly state, just not one with a bunch of people.

Day 1 in case there are any real bargains
-
I go to both, but that because I represent the local Cowboy action clubs and SASS.
-
the other side is on day 2 if they dont want to pack it up, sometimes cash talks.
too late for day one now. maybe i will go tomorrow. the sad part is everything i want is either not made anymore, back ordered forever or is no longer imported
-
Both days. You may overlook something on day one that wants to go home with you on day two.
-
Usually the first day.
Even better if you have an exhibitor pass and can get there when things are being set up. That's when you really can find a diamond in the rough.
And if you see a few things that are too expensive that you like get there an hour or two before it closes shop. Prices go down then...especially for heavy items or things that require a lot of packaging/care. I picked up a plate rack a hour before closing that was a really good deal.

After day 1, most anything really worth buying firearms wise, has already been picked up. It really depends what you're looking for.
If it's just fun and entertainment, then it doesn't matter as much. Gun shows have pretty much evolved into giant flea markets. Everything is for sale. Books, jewelry, magazines to fit every gun ever manufactured, enough duffle bags and gun cases to supply the Fifth Army. All stuffed with enough paper to deforest Brazil.
Tee shirts, surplus ammo cans, knives and swords, bags of reloaded ammo, belt buckles commemorating everything except Mr. Clean's birthday. Even puppy dogs are all available at the larger shows.

Prices at the gun shows are just not that great. In most cases, the items I buy at gun shows can be bought elsewhere cheaper nowadays.
Nice place to see what is starting up in the market but they are NOT the good prices that were available in the past.
-
I quit long ago.
What few we still have in our area are high-priced junk and 'above gun store' prices for new stuff.

I went to one gun show, period. I bought some 37mm bird bombs for my flare gun before they were outlawed. And I got some flares an smoke somewhere. I still have the plastic hulls in a box if I ever want to reload them. If I was serious about reloading I would look for metallic shells. I saw them online before, and I think someone still makes them.
