Title: AUTO MAG LTD. CO. Bankruptcy Filing
Post by: Big Frank on March 10, 2025, 10:04:14 AM
AUTO MAG LTD. CO. filed a 7 chapter bankruptcy in the District of South Carolina bankruptcy court on February 14, 2025. The Valentine's Day Auto Magsacre. :( This is a involuntary bankruptcy filing; it was assigned the bankruptcy case number #25-00558. I wasn't going to spend over 4 grand on a pistol anyway, but would have loved to get one if they were more affordable.

It looks like the only .44 Auto Mag caliber pistol choice is now the Wildey Survivor. Also available in .45 Ein Mag, and .474 Wildey Mag, for when you really want to tear s**t up. All 3 calibers are available with 8", 10", or 12" barrels. Prices are, $2,750.00, $2,900.00, or $3,000.00, depending of finish. The options are Brushed Stainless, Matte Stainless, and High Buff Stainless. Barrel assemblies are $725.00, $770.00, or $800.00, depending on finish.

I think it took 6 months to get one before they ran into some of the problems they had. Like not being able to get good parts from a supplier, then having to gear up production for even more stuff. I'm still waiting to hear from Wildey to see if they're still in business. If I could go back in time I'd get an L.A.R. Grizzly .45 Win Mag, possibly an AMT AutoMag IV. And an AMT AutoMag III in 9mm Win Mag or .30 carbine. I'm not so much interested in the AMT AutoMag IV or AutoMag V. My younger brother bought one of the AMT AutoMag II pistols in .22 WMR and it wasn't great, so maybe the others wouldn't be either.

I think I remember some time back Michael had a show that dedicated some time to the AutoMag revival.

I wonder if he has one in his gunsafe to put on gunbroker????   Inquiring minds want to know...

So much for owning Mack Bolan's gun...

One time in the army we were all sitting around after getting ready for something, a trip to the field or the range maybe (hurry up and wait). One guy had a paperback book that was part of the original Mack Bolan The Executioner series. I started reading this book and it wasn't long before I got to the part about an AK-47 Anti-Aircraft gun. I did a double-take, and after reading it a few times, gave the book back to that guy and sat on my thumb instead. Twiddling my thumb was more entertaining than reading that garbage and passed the time just as well. ;D I hope I didn't lower my IQ just by reading the little bit of brain-rot I did. I don't remember which of nearly 60 authors of over 630 books in the series it was, but they obviously knew less about guns than the average kid in the hood.

P.S. Marc Bolan, English guitarist, singer-songwriter and poet, and leader of the band T. Rex probably knew as much about guns as most Mack Bolan writers, even if he never owned one.
