Title: John Taffin
Post by: PegLeg45 on March 14, 2025, 12:04:57 PM
One of the first 'gun writers' that I started reading regularly.
Back in the 80's I started reading GUNS Magazine and American Handgunner which was about the same time John started as a staff writer for both. John was a great source of info for big bore revolvers and reloading. I've cooked several of his loads in my .44's over the years.

That's one of the few names I recall from the old days hung in this long.

American Handgunner Magazine

We can't think of a more fitting send off for the legendary John Taffin. His wife, Dot, shared that John wanted his ashes spread out at Black's Creek Range. His grandson, and namesake, John Taffin, was able to shoot them out of a cannon!

I know, but someone has to say it!

He went out in a blast.
