Title: I love to shoot sporting clays
Post by: Teresa Heilevang on September 29, 2008, 05:11:47 PM
I shot 100 rounds of sporting clays Sunday for a fund raiser for defibrillators to be put in all of the emergency vehicles in our county. ( which is made up of about 2,100 people)  There was 10 of us in our group. ..made up of my family and best friends.
It was a blast.. Hotter than the hubs of hell, but no wind and no rain..so it was a perfect day for shooting.  I didn't do as well as I think I should have.. but that was okay... it was still fun. We shot at Flint Oak. http://www.flintoak.com/
It is about 20 minutes from us ( as the crow flies on the dirt roads)
I just wanted to share with you one of the pictures of Mama and "her babies"..    ::) ::) ;D

I have a ton of pictures and I will maybe post some more. When I wasn't shooting my gun,. I was shooting my still camera and my video.    Derek, ( the one on the left.. my youngest) took the camera when it was my turn to shoot.so there is actually some pictures of me this time..  ;) )
After we got done, we came home about 5:00.. grabbed the bass boat and took off for our lake. Mark ( my ex) and I had caught a livewell of bass( (from 2# to-6# )all day Saturday. Plus about a ziplock bag full of fish fillets. So we wondered if they were still biting on Sunday. They were and we fished til dark.
 FANTASTIC Weekend.  :D

Looks like mama's babies don't need guns to protect her.  Do you take them out to the back allies and other undesirable places at midnight for entertainment?

Great picture, looks like you are definitely in your comfort zone and how cool is that. I too like sporting clays, not that good at it, usually 58 - 64%, but fun. Did you edit your post, or am I 2 beers south of where I should be, seems I remember, earlier, you caught a mess of crappie, and if any of you don't know the crappie fish, your missin out, tender white meat, and succulent. Very popular down south. I don't turn my nose up at small mouth or large mouth bass either. YUMMMMMMMMMMMM

Good looking offspring too, The family that plays together, you know the rest. ;)

Glad you had funnnnnnnnnnnnnn ;D ;D ;D

m25..
I did edit the post.. ( good eye) I got a couple e-mails about how many crappy we usually catch.. what kind of lake do we have .. etc.. I then went back in to see what I had actually written..  the gallon ziplock was full of crappy AND Bass fillets so I thought I better change it so it was totally correct.  :)

To bore you with a few more pictures.
in order..
*Derek..(youngest and thinks his brother is "Heavy" and he is the "Slim" one  ::) )
*Danny..(oldest and would retort back to his brother, something equally as bad   :D )
*Mark...( my best friend and ex husband & the father of the 2 "slim" ones.. ;D )
*And you know the blond mama with the smokin' gun.. ...

No..We all shoot Brownings and different type guns... but I was using my 12 ga.
He was using his 20 ga.

He and Danny & Mark still out-shot me by a mile.  :P

((oh... and thanks for the compliment))) (http://www.cascity.com/howard/animations/bateye.gif)

I have so many cool pictures with the shells being ejected in the air..and the smoke rolling from the guns.. I love it..  :D

A smokin' hot mama with a smokin' gun.  8)  I haven't shot much since I got arthrirtis in my shoulders but I have lots of ammo to burn. I need to get out and shoot more often.

How is the dove season going there?

Not real great............maybe good compared to some places..but for our area it was not real good. Most of the farmers no-tilled beans right back into the wheat, so there wasn't the usual milo and maze for them to flock to. Also tons of corn was planted this year which of course didn't help at all.

They seemed to like to fly into the foxtail...and some farmers actually bale that.... so we had that. We can usually have enough to feed an army several times.. but this year just wasn't too whippy.

I did take my camera out one time. Had a decent hunt the second morning, almost got my limit...so I thought I would take some pictures between shooting in the afternoon.. but that was a flop, cause it was the worst evening ever.. so I only ended up getting 2 ..and since I immediately pull their heads off when I pick them up, that is what is in the picture..  ::) We hunt the mornings and evenings on weekends and every evening during the week.
Never took my camera out again.. and I always had a respectable amount in my game bag.
( So I guess the camera was bad luck  ;D )
Hopefully this cooler weather will bring in the Northerns.

I gotta find a place o dove hunt!!! I love skeet shooting, too. BTW, any body ever seen a guy skeet shoot with a Winchester 130 Defender with a folding stock??? (And didn't do too bad with it.)  ;D
