As I read I like to research what I read. I look for facts, I double check what I read and think I understand, and I read the comments written by other readers. When I taught Firearm Safety and Hunter Education in Minnesota the state proclaimed something I found is true across almost any issue: When it comes to hunting, 12% are extremely pro-hunting (Ted Nugent), 12% are extremely anti-hunting (PETA), but 76% of the nation is somewhere in between, with most not being emotionally engaged, even if they participate as a hunter.
Reading the comment sections shows what the extremists believe, and I have to admit that I am often just as turned off by a conservative as a liberal spewing their talking points without knowing what they are really addressing or that the talking point is often out of context.
The most fun I have is quoting facts, listening to the stuttering or getting ghosted. On sites that have thumbs up and thumbs down, it is amazing to watch the high number of downs you can get stating a fact.
Today I listened to, and read, the rants over Social Security funding. Nobody ever includes Medicare, and while they can quote the $174,100 income cap, that is the end of their knowledge. A ranter posted that a person earning $1,000,000 only contributes $4,818 into the system. I corrected him, and was reported for posting lies. I posted the following, and besides the report, many comments about my IQ, my genetic disorder, and being aligned with either Hitler or Putin ... Oh yea, and my lips are orange from kissing a certain person's body part.
Shortstop earning $1,000,000
Social Security - $21,836.40 (12.4% of $174,100 capped income)
Medicare - $29,000 (2.9% of uncapped income)
Shortstop contributed $50,836.40 into the system.
Quote facts that can be verified through official publications, and the 12% will bring rope, tar, feathers, and a rail to your doorstep.
I love it!!!

What site were you messin' with them on? Sounds like fun...

I'll poke in on MSN from time to time, but Newsweek and The Washington Post are the most fun.
I like The Washington Post, because it is very Left, and they don't mask their slant, and you get the full talking points and spin.

Uh. I hate to bring this up, but the 2025 cap is 176,100, which jives with your tax calculation. Small typo I'm sure.

You are correct on both points: It is $176,100, and that is the figure I have in my notebook. Damn fat fingers.

Never post facts for idiots. It only confuses them. ;)
