I don't know if we've covered this. Forgive me.
For Reference, I have a G17 Gen5 that I only use to shoot GSSF matches.
Was at the LGS early yesterday few people were there, the gunsmiths were testing out a full auto and in the bay next to mine was the Glock rep, bringing all the store employee up-to-date on the new Gen 6. I stuck my nose in and asked if I could shoot the G17. If you didn't know the Gen 6 has:
A flat faced trigger design
redesigned optic mount more compatible with the industry.
palm swell
extended thumb rest
enlarged beavertail
new grip texture
slide serrations angled deeper into the slide
Yes I do like the trigger. Dry fired it very slowly several times. Acceptable creep. Reset was positive and not to long. The gun felt good. Understand I go back and forth between a Ruger 22/45, L/N frame revolvers, Sig P320, FN509 and others so the palm swell and grip angle aren't a biggie to me. The tang and texture are not of a concern. They did feel good. And one can always use a better grip on the slide. Just shoot in the rain and you'll see. I've learned to adapt. For others it's critical. The gun felt good. He had a 7yd target and I put the 10 rounds all in one hole for him. I didn't shoot too slowly after the first couple, either. I think he was going to save that target for bragging on the gun. I didn't pay attention to the iron sights since he had a red-dot on it and I don't care because I'd replace them anyway with LPAs.
I'm not going to run out and buy one. If on the off chance I win a gun at GSSF, I'll will up grade my Gen 5, but then by the time I do that they may have a Gen7 out.

Perfection - re-perfected for the fifth time!
The grip texture is supposed to be a combination of 2 of their earlier grip textures, and work wet or dry. The Glock Gen V was re-engineered to keep people from buying Glock switches on Alibaba or Temu, or wherever and putting them on. Making Glock 18s out of Glock 17s, etc. It didn't work. Glock caved in to anti-gun politicians in California, FOR NOTHING.
