Title: What does this say?
Post by: Ckott on October 10, 2008, 09:14:36 AM
That there are more post in the Political section than the Handgun and Rifle section combined.

I know it's an election year but it does seem a little off balance to me.

It says I'm f**ckin fed up with a lieing asshole and his crowd; I've got a headache that won't quit; I've gone through three weeks during which every bit of my free time has been windy and raining (translate - no shootin time); the bossman started talking layoffs last week; and now my wife (I honestly love her and don't know what I would do without her) has quit talking about me using my last few vacation days to go up north hunting to going down to Kansas to vist our son and his wife (a good thing) and her liberal, bleed blue, worship BHO family the week before the election  >:(

Another damn trip where I have to be careful what the hell falls out of my mouth whenever "certain people" are around  :(  I've been reamed and chewed out (not by wife but the in laws) for talking guns and even having them out in my own house when they visit, and now I have to go to their house and get castrated again   :-X

There ... that's out  :-[

My buttons have been pushed, I'm pissed, and I need someone to rant at!  You all just get to be the lucky SOB's that I dump on.

There, you asked, now I'm going to go have a stroke or heart attack.  I'm not sure which, but I'm sure it would take the pain away, and the wife could sure use the cash ;)

Many of the veterans on this site spent their military careers focusing on killing communists to stop the menace of totalitarian Govt.'s. Now we may see a f**king communist ELECTED here  >:(

m58, you're a better man than me to be able to bite your tongue in your own house...I certainly applaud you for that, as well as everything else in your post.
I'm lucky. My in-laws are gun folks. My father-in-law is in bad health and he'll still buy a gun that he knows he can never shoot. He says it is an investment to be sold off after he dies so my mother-in-law can have cash.
All I can say is "good luck".

I think what sent them over the edge was when I came home from a bike ride when they were visiting, and plopped down in my chair, pulled the 1911 out and laid it on the newspaper beside me.  I was home, and it was habit ... what can I say  ;D  Oh ... that and the time they were visiting and I asked for help carrying something down to the family room.  You should have seen their faces as I asked them to grab one end of my new gun safe  ;D

Ok ... I probably deserve some of what I get :-[ but if you can't rub the salt in what's the use of wounding in the first place  ;D

I need to check if I can carry in Kansas.  I can't in South Dakota or Iowa which really sucks, because we live so close to both of them, and I cross those borders so easy when running around.

Im right there with you guys, sitting around watching people lose their money in the market , not to mention the politics and bs. Depression is the order of the day. Just when I get the chance to shoot with the wife, we have to have a yard sale to make xtra money. Crazy days. hell at least I cant get layed off, I havent worked in 6 weeks because of this busted arm, go back 24th to hopefully get this damn cast off.

Dude, I feel your pain!!  South Dakota honors my ccw permit, but Minnesota does not, nor does Nebraska.  All 3 are within whizzing distance of here.  And I see by the site you linked to that I can't carry in Kansas when I go to visit the kids.  Call me crazy, but shouldn't the 2nd Ammendment be the only ccw permit one should need?

This is exactly why we need a FEDERAL CCW that would be honored in EVERY state............(I can dream can't I?)

We have one, and it starts with "We the People ..."

True, very true.....but I don't think that one will 'fly' with Ol' John Law if you get caught packin' without a license (where required).

It's basically been off balance since 1968.    That's when gun organizations had to start devoting time and money to defending the 2nd amendment.     There will be no need for a Handgun or Rifle forum if we can't own them, shoot them or get ammo for them.

Geez, M'ette, please be careful what you say here. Saying something like that will set Haz off into another daydream/fantasy fugue state and we'll have to sit here and listen to all of the lurid details.   ;D

................

Make it happen over the weekend of November 8 & 9.  That's the (11 COTTON PICKIN' ACRES OF GUNS) Wannamacher's Gun Show in Tulsa and that's only about 200 miles from Newton...Interstate or toll road all the way.  That's after the election, you can either rub it in or scare the hell out of them by saying you are going to the gun show to see what everyone is buying for the revolution---HA! . .

m58...I feel your pain, I'm lucky my in-laws aren't anti-gun liberals.  I know when you are in someone else's home you're supposed to be sensitive to their turf...but they don't seem to be sensitive to you.  One thing I've found, liberals will bow up and be indignant but if you will "leave it swingin' " and stay the course you will likely intimidate them after a bit and they will shut up.  If they don't shut up kick their ass in their own home....might be cold back at the house for the while but what the heck.

If you make it to the show I'll be there Saturday with my cell phone...give me a call and we'll meet up.  I usually go with the wife and our three boys for about 6 hours...then 3 or so hours on Sunday.
