LIke I said, just got home from our local tactical shotgun match, good match with a lot of tricky or hard shots, several hold off targets, which means you have to hold off of the shoot target, to avoid hitting a no shoot, and the no shoots were particularly close to the shoot targets this time, lots of movement, ( which I don't do so well any more ) , lots of reloading, ( no speed loaders allowed ), and a slug stage thrown in. I shot pump and auto class, which was about 75-80 rounds per gun. Stick a fork in me, I'm done, :P tired as hell, but I did help put the steel and paper target stuff away. I hope your match day was good. ;D

An 1187 Remington, premier light contour barrel, 5 shot tube, with a trigger job, vang safety and choate bolt handle for the auto.
Remington 870, with a 20" rifle sight barrel, CAR15 stock, 7 shot tube, trigger job and vang safety, surefire forend, which does not help in the daytime. My bedside shotgun.

I don't compete but my "tactical" shotgun is a Remington Sportsman 12 Auto. It's the M1100s ugly twin, with the machine marks not polished out of the metal, and a cheap generic hardwood stock on it. I also have the Choate bolt handle and Vang safety. I hacked the 28" barrel off at about 18-1/2" and have a rifle-type front bead on top of the rib, and a Williams peep sight. I have a Choate pistol grip stock, matching forend, a +2 magazine extension, and sling with QD swivels. When I take it hunting I put the original stock back on. It has a good buttpad on it now so I can shoot a lot more.

Sounds like a nice combo...got pics?
I use a Winchester 1300 Defender with 8 round tube for Home defense, but have been contemplating an 870.

The only change from the picture is I replaced the buttstock with one from a Sig 556, it has a small rubber butt pad, and compartments for batteries.

Very Nice setup.
I like the looks of that stock and the way it bolts onto the receiver better than some others I've seen.

Truthfully, I was worried about the setup, I wanted to get a Knoxx, but this was 60 bucks versus 150 bucks, when I first installed it, the angle of the stock would not let me see the top of the barrel, let alone the sights, so I took the adapter piece, the very short section, and filed it a little at a time, until the angle was right, and I could see the the sights correctly. The recoil did surprise me, it was about the same as a normal stock, I expected much worse. FWIW
