I went to the gun show today to sell / trade my old Iver Johnson Target revolver. I was making the beeline down the show floor, checking the guns and stuff, when a strikingly beautiful girl caught my eye. She was showing some red dot site to the chubby young guy with the chubby girlfriend in tow. Took me a second to slow down and start on a new course. Next thing you know I was gently pushing away the chubby guy, I bet he wasn't interested in the gun site either. I've drop the anchor at her table, smiled and.... start looking at what she got in her display cases.
I bet most off you know what a trench art look like. Yeah, the one made out of spent brass and big gun shells.

She got cufflinks made out of 50BMG cartridge heads, with the gemstones in place of primers and head stamps intact. I don't have a picture of them, but trust me they look very manly.
We've chatted for a while. She is not only an artist; most of the shells she uses are her own spent cartridges. She rides horses and, didn't I tell you, she is stunningly beautiful.
To paraphrase Forest Gump: " Gun shows are like a box of chocolates..." :)

Saw her at the West Springfield, MA gun show last week.
After a couple of minutes noticed see had something to sell ;D
She does do nice work thou.

Very nice.
My only trench art is an ashtray I made from an old 105mm BRASS shell casing for a tank. They're normally made from steel. It's heavy enough to pound a tap into a German beer keg too. Been there, done that. ;D

Where was the gunshow ? Last time I went to the one in Manchester it was pretty lame, and no ccw allowed, whats with THAT.

They do ask if you have a loaded firearm. But I am not sure if they'll search you. I didn't see any "No CCW" signs anywhere.
Manchester shows are lame in general. The gentelment I've traded my Iver Johnson with, told me that winter shows are much better.
BTW got the new Remington model five for my kids for it + $90. Damn heavy for the youth gun and build like rock, they are made by Zastava for the Big Green.

I went in Feb. They had a big banner over the door said no loaded firearms even WITH ccw. as for older guns/antiques they had some guy there with 3 or 4 30/40 Krags that looked like he dug them up some where.
Makes me wish I lived closer to Tulsa :(

I guess it doesn't apply to this thread. ;D The author, Winston Groom, reportedly dislikes the change from that to the line everyone is familiar with. I hate when movies change the story from books, but it's even worse when they change stories from real life. Schindler's List made a lot of gun owners mad because they left out the part about him giving guns to the Jews and teaching them to shoot. That was a very important part of the real-life story but it wasn't politically correct enough for the gun-banning Hollywood elite.

And Steven Spielberg left one of the most important parts of Herr Schindler's story out of... HIS story. That's disgusting.
Life is like a box of chocolates. Sometimes you find out there's nothing left but caramels that someone put back after they took a little bite out of each one and didn't like them. And sometimes you find something wonderful and unexpected. :)
