Interesting..... I dont really understand the physics as to why his hat would blow off. ???

THE projectile hit him in the hat, and thus his head, 2" lower and could have been very bad news.

That is one lucky SOB. This is the second similar video I've seen this year. The first involved a .50! from a bench. This one looks as if the rebound hit the dirt in front of the shooter and bounced up to take off his hat and graze his head.

Just judging by the way the grass is blowing it looks like it was very windy that day. Once the hat got knocked loose the wind just took it away. All in all, that is one lucky dude.

Note to self: never shoot at an armor plate at a 90 degree angle. :)
I got hit by a richochet from a Jennings .22 pistol that I shot at a steel swinger target made for centerfire pistols. It had enough energy to hit my leg and make me say WTF, but not enough to make the target swing. My brother made a similar target and they both worked great with our .357 Magnums, but not so good with a .223 Remington rifle. He blew a dime sized hole through the 3/8" thick steel with a softpoint. A 20 gauge slug made the target spin several times, very fast. ;D

I have had two different instructors tell me NEVER shoot steel target with a shot gun slug. I heard slugs come back at an allarming rate.

Otherwise know as Newtons Third Law of Motion: "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction!"
The statement means that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects. The size of the forces on the first object equals the size of the force on the second object. The direction of the force on the first object is opposite to the direction of the force on the second object. Forces always come in pairs - equal and opposite action-reaction force pairs...
This ends the lesson in physics.....

That's going to leave a mark................ Lucky Guy. I pulled a Red Rider BB Gun richochet as a kid, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Years ago, an old friend I grew up with was standing next to me at the range shooting his Ruger Security Six and had a .38 special round bounce back from a steel target stand at 15 yards. It hit him in the leg and left one nasty lookin' bruise.

You'll put your eye out... literally! Man, I love that movie. :D
Swoop
I finally saw it last year. When we were kids me and one of my brothers had a BB gun fight in the house by ricocheting off the basement ceiling. That didn't last long. We didn't put an eye out, just a light. HE DID IT! :D
