Controversial doll is pulled from shelves

Melissa Bush bought a "Little Mommy Cuddle N' Coo" doll that she is going to return.
The doll is being pulled off store shelves because it supposedly says, "Islam is the light."
Toymaker Mattel says the doll does not say that and is only cooing.

Cooing sounds like "Mommy loves Hazaritas!" Hear it around here all the time.
Mac.

I don't know anything about the ownership/management of Mattel, however I find it hard to believe this message was not intentional.  You would think that someone in product testing, quality control, etc., would have noticed and reported this if it were supposed to be "cooing".  It seems pretty darn clear to me.  Although I don't know where to point the finger, I guess you can sign me up for the tin foil hat brigade.   :)

I would  bet that they sub out the doll, or at the very least the board/ hardware that makes it speak.

Remember the "Ferbies", when the batteries got low it sounded like "kill mommy".

I'm gonna go out on a limb here.   Like everything else 'toy', production of the sound chip was outsourced to Malaysia or some other country with a large Muslim population.

I never thought of that.  Good point and very possible/probable.

TARGET PRACTICE!!!

Sounds like a plan.

Even with my bad hearing it is the clearest thing I've heard out of a toy in a long time.

Same for my hearing.  I have a hard time understanding women and children but that was very clear without high volume.

Since when does Coo begin with an "I"?  I'm 35% + deaf and can understand that without my hearing aids.
