Title: Police: Lexus vandalized because of McCain sticker
Post by: Hazcat on October 19, 2008, 09:08:02 AM
CLEARWATER -- Police say someone scratched "KKK" into a Lexus, urinated on it, lit an American flag on fire and burned cigarettes into the car because it sported a bumper sticker supporting Sen. John McCain for president.

Police said the car also had a bumper sticker opposing Sen. Barack Obama. Police say it happened today at about 8:30 a.m at 1400 Gulf Boulevard. The 2006 Lexus LS 430 is owned by Frank Armstrong, 41, of 2136 Pinnacle Circle N in Clearwater.

Police estimated the damage at $4,500. They said no surveillance footage or witnesses have been found.

Investigators are calling it a hate crime.

Can this really be ... a Republican supporter being supported by the hate crimes legislation?  Doesn't mean I've changed my stance on hate crimes legislation, but I'm sure some do gooder will set these cops straight.

By the way, When did you get a Lexus Haz  ;)  Do you now intend to protect it with your Second Amendment Rights while you still have them?

My sympathy ;)

I've been down graded to a '99 Chev S-10 (two wheel drive in the great white north).  Four wheel three quarter ton went south, and couldn't justify replacing it.  Hope it is not an eventful winter up here.

This is the first hunting season I've needed to count on the little truck.  Do you know how much room two dozen goose decoys, a large dog kennel, a couple shotguns, hunting gear and regular stuff for a few days, the wife, and a dog that would rather ride in the cab than the kennel takes up?  It is going to be an interesting trip if I can't get the wife to ride in the kennel ;D

Waaaaah ...

It's like everything else - you do what you can and envy those that get to do the stuff you can't  ;)

Last time I was in Arizona I stood in a group, and each of us talked about how great the others had it.  It was that point that we all realized that we are truly blessed in our own opportunities, but I'm sure the grass is still greener somewhere ;)

I'll be thinkin about you guys, and I will probably even feel sorry that you can't join me.  However, I ain't stayin home cause you can't come along :P

P.S.

Will be calling BHO for assistance in this.  A couple months ago I bought a mixed case of steel at an average of $33 a box (paid cash cause you don't want wifey to see that check or credit card statement), and since I'm down to my last box of tungsten I priced that for a purchase ... $32 BUCKS A BOX  that's a box of ten!  Does anyone know if I can get welfare forms on line?

Back on topic and serious:

Has this type of thing been an issue down there, or is it just an extreme case that the media decided to exploit?

Now I don't feel so bad. I've got the 2000 Ranger with 4 WD. I can tow the nightclub trailer even on snowy nights, but the mileage is killing me. With a hard tonneau cover I can separate my guns and ammo all NJ-like too.

It was cool here today, too.  Low in the mid sixties and only got up to 79.  ;D

Florida cool is not really cool. They just TELL you that so that you feel like there's a rythmn to nature down there. Go downtown and find a restaurant with a walk-in freezer and sit in there for about 45 minutes. You can get up and walk around if you want...
I have a cousin that grew up about 40 miles from me, then moved to Florida. We can't get them to come up here in the SUMMER because it's too cool.

Seafood is much better in colder climates too. M'ette will back me up on that.

Coldwater fish is pretty good....it just needs some Southern spices thrown on it.

No you can't, but if you are real careful you could put another over the top of it ... might I suggest something that starts with "God, Guns, Country and Hokey Too!"  :o

Not sure where I've seen them available, but I'm sure you could find a supply for use like this  ;)

Did anyone else think it was a little odd for the article to provide the home address of the owner of the vehicle.  Hopefully the poor guy believes in and utilizes his 2A rights like we do.  Of course, anyone who would vandalize an empty car probably doesn't have the cajones for a face to face confrontation.  Liberal pansies!   >:(

DANG!  I just deleted a pic my wife sent.

It was a sign that said " On 10-3 someone tresspassed and vandalized my PALIN-McCAIN sign violating my 1st Amendment rights to Free Speech.  Have them try it again and they'll see about my 2nd Amendment rights too."

What that sign is really saying:

"I have guns. Come steal them. But bring your gun and shoot me dead to make the job easier."

I would think that the sign would be a great deterrent.  How many criminals prey on people who are well-armed? None by choice! They would much rather pick on some helpless sheep than a person with a weapon.

Too bad they didn't have a Ron Paul-esque sign that said "Google Castle Doctrine"...

There are reports of this type of vandalism (theft, car keying, etc.) everywhere.

Those open minded, tolerant lefties are actually hate filled crazies.

There are many a criminal that will break into a house just to steal guns. My stance is 'Dont advertise'.

Which is why I still use my rock-star-parking pass ("Persons With Disabilities" placard) and hang it from my mirror ONLY when I'm parked in one of those spaces, instead of getting the license plates with the little wheelchair on them.  I view those things as a "victim here" sign.
