MILITARY SMALL-ARMS AMMUNITION
Our products are used by many law enforcement agencies and the armed forces. Advanced ammunition by the TCW which is used in anti-terrorist operations deserves special mentioning. The Tula military ammunition is exported to many countries via the state company “ROSOBORONEXPORT” (http://www.rusarm.ru) ONLY.

U.S. sanctions against Russian arms exporter meet objection
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2008-10/25/content_10252262.htm
25 Oct. 2008
WASHINGTON, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- The United States has slapped financial sanctions on Russia's state arms exporter for its dealings with Iran, a move was described by Russia as something "without international legal foundation," the Washington Post reported Saturday.
Under the U.S. law, any assets of the entities or individuals being sanctioned will be frozen, and no Americans are allowed to do business with them.
The U.S. sanctions were designed to thwart the sales of sensitive technology that could help Iran, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Syria develop weapons of mass destruction or missile systems, the Washington Post said.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday denounced the U.S. sanctions on Russia's Rosodboronexport, and its subsidiaries, as illegal and unjust.
"These new sanctions were introduced without any international legal foundation whatsoever," Lavrov was quoted as reporting in Moscow.
Russia will not change its policies on Iran because of the sanctions, the Russian foreign minister stressed.

"...(snip)...The sanctions against Rosoboronexport are valid for two years, and bar any U.S. aid, contracts or arms sales to the blacklisted entities. The order was signed on October 16, and came into effect on Thursday. A Rosoboronexport representative on Friday called the sanctions a "manifestation of unethical competition."
"We view the imposition of sanctions with regard to the sole Russian facilitator of arms sales as a manifestation of unethical competition," Vyacheslav Davydenko told reporters.

No more Wolf ammo. On the other hand it is about time the US took action against the Russians, they are not our friends, and were sending supplies to Saddam right up till the time we took Baghdad International Airport.

I know some shooters have no problem with Wolf, but I did and won't miss it one bit.

That is 100% true. Although Putin has been on his "Manly" stretch again in the news. Tiger, judo, shooting,...etc,..quietly having people killed,....undermining American foreign policy,....you know,... typical Russian politics. 8)
Once in the KGB, always in the KGB,...
-
I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner. As a matter of fact' if BarryO gets elected, you can expect all foreign ammo imports to be banned.
-
I always say, beware the Russian Bear.

I was going to say "it's like the Mafia", but then I remembered we are talking about Russia, they are the Mafiya.
Remember the stink about Iraq's "oil for food program", Putin personally made MILLIONS on that little scam, as did his friends.

I won't miss Wolf ammo because I never bought any. I doubt if there's anything from Russia I'll miss. We even make better Vodka in the U.S. than they do. http://www.glaciervodka.com/home.html It's made from Idaho potatoes and not grain like 99% of all vodka including Russian brands.
-
Not all wolf is bad... wolf is just the name branded to a importer that gets ammo from all over. Many 22 target pistol guys swear by thier 22 match ammo.

Under EU law if it's made from grain it can't be sold as "Vodka", it comes under the regulations that control wine grading etc. and last year the Russians were throwing a fit because Scotland was making "Vodka" out of sugar beets.

And they haven't stop sending them to Iraq since, but now under auspices of Uncle Sam. Here is the latest from the DOD:

Guess, where those rounds suppose to come from? I am not sure what is going on, could be a very common situation when the buyer has a leverage over the seller to lower the price.

I just saw an ad yesterday for SK .22 ammo. That's supposed to be the company that made .22 ammo for Wolf and they were selling it under their own name. It's supposed to made in Germany.

I am also sure that this affects Saigas being sold in the US, as Izmash is also under the Robosboron(sp) umbrella.
-
Okay there was something fom Russia I wanted but never bought. A Saiga shotgun or two. I think the .410 bore with buckshot would be a nice toy to play with. Maybe a good defensive gun too. Especially after Tromix works it over. http://www.tromix.com/Welcome.htm I'd like to get a .410 and a 12 gauge but can't afford any.
-
410 buck is not that great... only 3 or 4 pellets depending on the load and rather its 00 or 000.
I would much rather have something like 2 or BBs in lead then buck of a 410.
-
I tried looking in the Federal Register to see the exact scope of the sanctions against Rosoboronexport ( it is the Russian state umbrella company for all the foreign arms sales and all arms companies fall under it.) It seems that the intent of the sanctions is to target Sukhoi specifically, but I couldn't find the specific decision and whether it indeed just targets Sukhoi or Rosoboronexport and all its enterprises.
This is the best article on the subject I could find:
http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/us-ban-on-russian-defense-firms-raises-the-stakes-02522/
It looks like Tula(Wolf ) ammo and the Saiga's should be OK but the article doesn't present the complete wording of the sanctions.

You can get 5 000 Buck in 3" shells but only 3 000 Buck in 2-1/2" shells. Winchester makes them both.

The Wolf .22 match stuff IS very good and IS made in Germany, at least the stuff I have is.
