Not sure I follow what you are saying. What competition? ???
In Colorado we're teaching Fist-Fire Classes at the San Juan Range (host of the World Shoot Off Championships). Nothing to do with the match.
I can't wait, the weather and mountain views are always great there. 8)

Ah, thank you for your kindness at not pointing out the "Lack of preview before post" in my question. I ment to say class but my fingers typed match.(Stupid-fingers!!! >:() The question shoulda asked, do we need the FF system (entry level home course) under our belt before class or is it ok to wing it( meaning only need competition level safty knowledge ,drawing from holster,ect.)? Once again Mr. Middlebrooks sorry for any confussion i may of caused to yourself or any fourm members towit read the post.

I start everyone out at Level 1, no matter what their skill level is. The better shooters just perform the drills faster and more accurately, that's all. After day one of Level 1, I offer tutorial classes. I separate the shooters and have them work on different techniques, just like they do in any Martial Arts class. That way I can teach to the needs of the individual shooters.
But some guys insist they don't want to take a Level 1 class, and site ALL their credentials. ::) But F-F is way different than anything anyone else is teaching. So everyone starts out in Level 1 with me, and NOBODY jumps up or ahead until the master each level.
Then there are guys like Rick Simes for example. He came to his first Level 1 Fist-Fire class in Memphis and was already a Master Class IDPA shooter at the time. He's loved it and has been with me ever since, and is now one of the BEST instructors I have in my camp. He didn't mind working his way up to the top. 8)
Also, newbies have no en-grained BAD HABITS, so they are at an advantage in that respect. So, to answer your question, no, there are no prerequisites for training with me and guys.

All I do is build custom guns and teach people how to shoot. And because I have my own private shooting ranges in Virginia, I can hold a class most anytime. 8) I do a LOT of Private & Semi-Private classes, so what you will get personalized instruction from a World Champion shooter in a very private setting.
