The current situation with Dan Cooper and Cooper Firearms is certainly a good example of getting what you wished for.....and regretting it. One wonders at this juncture if Hillary wouldn't be easier to defeat.
It's also an example of the maxim, "Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas", even for a short period.
Regardless of the intent, contributing to Obama at any time, for any reason, just gave him more money to spend ultimately on the his presidential campaign. You'd think as a small businessman, Mr Cooper would know that a $3,300 contribution towards defeating Hillary is also $3,300 Obama saved for later buying ads to defeat McCain.

Isn't supporting Obama to defeat Hillary kind of like supporting Saddam to defeat the Iranians? Look how well that turned out. :o

Excellent point. Didn't we also train Bin Ladin in order to assist their struggle against the Soviets?

The US of A has trained a LOT of other countries and individuals that ended up turning on us and biting us in the you know what.
Some people like Cooper probably thought that by supporting BHO, it would make him our 'friend' and he would leave gun owners alone, not understanding that the true nature of a dyed-in-the-wool liberal is to take your money and use it for his own agenda.
Cooper's actions blowing up in his face was in the works before the ink was dry on the check.
Being in the firearms industry and sewing the seeds of his own destruction by making contributions to one of the, if not the, most gun-hating liberals out there........true irony.

From what I've read, no we didn't. He was self-sufficient for one thing, had his own money and armaments sources. He also came late to the game, after we started supplying Stingers to the mujaheddin..

The Pakistani ISI trained many of Bin Ladens recruits.
