Gunman1911 Annual Postal Match Proposed rules
First principle of the shoot is K.I.S.S. so everyone can shoot and have a chance.
General:
Any caliber up to (not including) 50 BMG.
2 disciplines;
1. Off hand (NO SUPPORT).
2. Bench rest consisting of sandbags only from a bench, truck hood, etc.
Scoring is smallest group (5 rounds) and closest group to center (5 rounds) Measured from outside edge of bullet hole (so big rounds could be a disadvantage). This could be the same group / target as the winner of both.
Rifles;
1. Open sights at 50 yards.
2. Optics (including read dots) at 100 yards.
Handguns;
1. Pocket guns (3.5 inch barrel or less) 7 yards.
2. “Normal” (up to 7.5 inch barrel) 10 yards
3. “Open” (over 7.5 inch barrel and or optics) 25 yards
Entry Fees:
$5.00 per category. With 5 types of guns and 2 different disciplines the most it can cost is $50.00 if you enter all.
Send your ONE best target per $5.00 fee.

Any word on where the funds will go? I'm all for Mrs. Gunman depending on what M'ette finds out.

What targets, what deadline, Where do we send targets and fee, any verification process, like having target signed and dated by another NRA member ?

Let's decide on targets, and I do like downloadable targets, so we all get the same stuff, at a low cost.
As for group shooting, measure outside to outside, less the bullet diameter, and all is equal.
I'm assuming the disciplines, off hand and with support apply to all the categories, and the round count 5?
A rimfire class would be cool to.

Are you all sending the targets to me and the money to me? and then I post the targets and the winners yada yada yada on here.. and then get a nice card..and send the money to Sonja? Or is the targets going to Haz? or what?
Also...let me get this straight.. ( be patient with me)
If you enter4 of the category's..you will have 4 finished targets. will everyone send all 4 ( or how ever many they have) to me? And then I categorize all ..pick the winner from that category..?
Then the same for all the others ? So there can actually be someone who is a crack shot..that can win in more than one category..right?

Money and targets to you, Mette.
Shooter must mark his target "5.5 Ruger Single Six at 25 yards - open sights" ETC.
Here is a list of all possible "winners"
Rifle open sights at 50 yards
Rifle optics at 100 yards
Pocket pistols (3.5 or less barrel) at 7 yards
Normal pistols (7.5 or less barrel) at 10 yards (open sights)
Open pistol at 25 yards (open or optics, no barrel limit).
EACH of the above has two winners, "closest group to center" and "smallest 5 shot group" One target could win both closest and smallest group.

I'm having a little trouble following this though...can we maybe get ALL of the information in one place...like a spot on the website with all the rules, targets, fees, where to send, etc.?

Well I might as well just tell you all now. I am gonna win. Mrs. Ette is going to get a target with one hole right in the center with the discription of all 5 shots through the same hole right in the dead center of the bullseye. 8) ;) :P

Thank you Mac, that is spot on. I'm in and will send extra $$ for anything Marshal'ette sees fit.
I know the dead eyes will be hard to beat, but for gunman1911 and his family, I'm 100% in.
I'll get some Range Officers to attest to my target, just to raise the bar,... ::)

Marshal is working on promoting the shoot and will get all the rules etc in one neat little pkg.
