Title: What are you doing tonight?
Post by: MikeBjerum on November 04, 2008, 07:28:03 PM
M'ette, as much as we love you and TAB we really love your pictures, but I'm not looking for things too graphic.  Heck, with what has happened on hear lately and with all the talk of by pass and heart attack and other issues, most of us couldn't live through some of the things you guys could throw at us.

I've gone out and done my job and voted.  I've talked to the wife, and she voted as well, and well.  The kids have voted.  I am so sick of all the mud slinging, predictions, and other crap that I just want to relax.  I'm going to try and avoid a lot of the hype.  I'll peek from time to time, but I am not going to tune in six different outlets and "get sucked in."

Just curious ... What are the rest of you planning?

Forgot to tell you what I'm up to ...

In case you haven't noticed from the other threads, I've tapped a new twelve pack, and it is starting to work.  The Crown is on the shelf, so that may be next.

10/4 M58, just going to massage a few cold ones, and hang out with you guys, not watch tv and get stirred up, I did that last night and today was very tiring. I did get up at 6 am, and went to vote, luckily, only a 5 minute wait. Got breakfast for the crew on my way in, as I was early.

In the chat room for while, come join.

Hey m58, I'm watching and loading,....er,.. uh,  loading a wine glass and looking at the foxnews channel, and going to transition to Hazerita's.

Already threw the foam bricks over the projected loss of Elizabeth Dole, R-NC, and going to work tomorrow. Hoping its a brand new day.

Sounds good doesn't it? I keep trying to convince myself.

Tonight:  After work
1)  A little DRTV and some other forums
2)  Reloaded 50 rounds of .223 with Barnes Varmint Grenades
3)  Had dinner (comfort food - meatloaf and mashed potatoes) with #2 & #3 son and wives.
4)  Drank some Merlot.
5)  More DRTV and other forums.
6)  Read a good novel.

So far it looks like a twelve step program may be in order for most of us tomorrow  ;)

Ericire,  If your not going to join us, will you at least include us in your list?

The 10/22 Kid 12 Step Election Night Program

12) Make sure friends and family have voted
11) Drive anyone who needs a ride to a polling place

Steps 10 through 3 involve a lot of praying, crying, pizza consumption, heavy drinking, and dressing the dog in leftover Halloween costumes (it's the only thing that will make me laugh tonight)

2) Trawl the Internet and see if there are any Swiss or Israeli families looking to adopt, a nice, clean boy from the states and his collection of "devil" sticks

1) Make sure I have a copy of the current Constitution/Bill of Rights. So one day I can show my grand kids what America use to mean. Assuming there is any America left when they're born!

Marshal and I are looking like 2 old sad Beagle dogs..
I am trying to do some bookwork.. ( I can hear Fox news coverage but I just can't stand to look at it)
Marshal has turned it off 4 times ..saying  " That's it.. I am not listening to that shit anymore".. and then sets  down at the computer.. then he gets up and goes back in and turns the damned thing on again.  ::)
Even the commentators are saying "maybe he will change and be more bipartisan.. "Maybe he will be someone who will bring the world together".."maybe..maybe ,maybe"...

( and MAYBE an orange striped tiger will wake up and be a black hairy baboon) ::)

I'm so very very tired and exhausted..mentally and physically.(as I know we all are right now) .and I know it is just beginning. I don't know what is in store for us.. but I do know that I am willing to do what it takes to take care of me and my family. So with love for God.. family and each other...I think we will be okay.

I am going to finish all the bill paying for the hardware store.. and then go crawl in my hot tub out on the deck.( it is about 60 degrees..a nice Fall breeze and a million stars in the sky) .. talk to God... and then come in and get my book and read.
( the new Stephan Hunter book is kick ass)

Then talk to God and the angels some more and go to sleep.
HE has to have a plan. All of this can not be happening unless there is a huge reason behind it. It may not be what we envision ..and it might have a bad outcome.. but there IS a plan.  We are not just thrown down here to fly by the seat of our pants. HE still has control of the car.. we just need to make sure we trust HIM to stay behind the wheel.

Thanks guys....for letting me inside and hang with you all  ......You have no idea how much you all mean to me.

Watched the returns, I watched McCain's amazing speech, and now it's bed time. Tomorrow is another day.
I survived Kennedy, I survived Johnson, I survived Carter, and I survived Clinton. Like M'ette says, the good Lord is drivin' the boat. I can't really change the course, so I"ll just go about my work and trust in the captain.

Thanks, M'ette and Jay.  I was seriously considering investing in some STRONG drink and a pack of smokes.  As a practicing Christian these things would probably send the wrong message to those around me.  Ya'll are right.  God has a plan and we must be willing to let things work out according to His will.  Thanks again for reminding me.  Just a few simple words turned my mind set around.

I'm not as old as I look. I used to be big and strong and bad and able to hoist the world. Now I'm big and soft and bitter and I am able to hoist my .45. It's a different world out there now. Look at the bright side...maybe now Obamas supporters can start paying for all this s***.
