Facing what we are facing, does it now seem small that thing which may have kept you from joining the NRA?
Now, more than ever before, we need YOU as a member.
Join the fight.

Time to pull the Recruiter box back out. I think I'm going to contact NRA and change my status. I told them I didn't want my "commission" on memberships, but I think I'll take the $10 and make offers like you join and the NRA will pay your entry to the Gun Show, or club membership, or pay for a few rounds of trap. Anything to sweeten the pot to get numbers.
By the way, If you are not an NRA member don't worry about finding a recruiter. Just go on line and do it, and DO IT NOW !!!
-
I've been a "pay as you go " member since 1980. I finally paid off my "life Membership" a couple of months ago. If you're not a member, join today. Now it's more important than ever.
-
I was going year to year and with this election I went ahead and put LIFE on my credit card because i thought it was THAT important...still is. We are going to need for the NRA to live up to it's attack dog reputation for the next four years at least...although I think within 2 years the dems will piss enough people off that we can gain some back in Congress. That is, only if the republicans get their big fat heads out of their big fat asses and get smart. They got too cozy with the washington whores and too busy stuffing pork down their throats. They need to get smart and push the value system again.
Meanwhile the dems will stumble along and make enemies. That's politics.
-
It wouldn't hurt to sign up your wife, kids and the grandparents too. At least go for the yearly deal for the next 4 and see where we are. I went life along time ago but now, after stocking up on ammo and mags, the wife and kids will all get memberships as well.
-
I posted earlier my situation and thoughts on being a recruiter. Can those of you that have just joined NRA, just upgraded with NRA or have not done anything yet let me know what would be or have been attactive to you from someone like me as an individual recruiter?
I'm not looking to make any money here. I just want to do what I can to build support for the coming years.
Thanks

coop, I'm doing that very thing. The NRA is our Pit Bull.
-
I've been a Life member for years and will sign up the wife too.
Also, those of you affiliated with clubs, offer discounts to club members, new and old, who are not NRA members if they join the NRA. Knock $10 off club dues and offer to apply it to new NRA membership.

Another way to help, download the NRA toolbar. I've sent 40 cents to the NRA this week just by surfing. So...multiply it by a million members and it's real money to help our cause for essentially no charge. Plus you get the NRA news, videos, etc. on the bar.
If any of you guys want the toolbar, send me a PM and I'll get the NRA toolbar info sent to you.
Thanks,
Ken
-
There is also a search engine www.goodsearch.com They send one cent for each query to the selected group, and NRA is registered with them. A penny doesn't sound like much, but if you are trying to research something how many Google searches do you do? If you do three searches a day, it is $10 per year. How much of your membership do you think is strictly for programs. This is more money for them without costing you a cent.

The toolbar is really easy and I have not had any problems with it at all.....
-
I paid for a yearly membership and then found out I can pay for a life membership as I go (payments) and took advantage of that as I didn't want to throw that much down on something other than a gun at one time. also using the toolbar. though I don't like loading all kinds of bs onto my computer I did it anyway and use it as much as possible, even if I don't need to.
-
..........I don't like loading all kinds of bs onto my computer I did it anyway and use it as much as possible, even if I don't need to.
10-4. Same here. I even use it to go to ebay and news sites where I know the address. But it adds a penny or two or three at a time.
-
All of the above things sound good!
So how about when it's time to pay the montly bills just send $10 or $20 bucks to the NRA???? Of course more would be good if you could afford it.
Worst case it might cost you your beer ration for a day or two!
What do you all think? ;D ;D ;D

This is the way school boards sucker us into their spending sprees and lack of self control. If I can give up a cup of coffee a day for the teachers' union, why can't I give up the same for an organization that will help fight for our Rights, teach our youth valuable lessons, and provide opportunity through sports for our kids and adults?
Like always, the answer is always there and it just takes one person to point it out.
Good idea!
-

heck! $10 $20 dollars wouldn't put a dent on one days beer ration! no problem! ;D (if you haven't noticed I like my beer)

Life Member in '76' ;D
Good for you Buckshot!
I first joined in 1972, while a student in Jr. High, as a gift from a really good uncle. However, I did a horrible job of consistancy (member for a few years, miss a year, member for a couple years, miss a few ...) untill five years ago I bit the big one and sent a check for Life. Amazing how much easier it is to support them in other ways now that I don't miss the dues anymore.

Same here. Now that I don't have to worry about dues, I can go online and buy from the store or make contributions when I can.
I bought a whole collection of videos on guns several years back (one at a time). It adds up for them and don't break the bank on my end.

Just bumping this up, because the fight is not over. The election is over, but we need to live and fight through the next years. We also need to prepare for the next election cycle. We need to be proactive for the next time around, because I'm sure those coming into office off this vote will screw something up to help us beyond the initial hurt.

I increased my membership to the EPL earlier this year and signed my wife up for an annual a couple months ago. My son turned 18 in October and he got a Beretta 92FS for his birthday (technically mine until he's 21) and he's geting a 5 yr NRA membership for Christmas. Think I'll sign Mom up for Christmas also.

Excellent. Good idea on the 5 year for the wife...I think I should do the same!
-
Today I actually got off my butt and got my family NRA associate memberships. Wife and 4 kids. While I was doing it I actually had two other people tell me two sign them up for regular memberships and a third get the web address to do it. All told that makes 9 new members from me. Of course 5 were mine. ::) Oh well, numbers are numbers.

And I wonder what the numbers are since 11/5/08. NRA has nothing on their site about any increase in memberships since the election.
-
OK guys....it's payday today. Chip in if you can. Gasoline price is falling so maybe you can drop a buck or two on the NRA.
Also....have ya'll downloaded their toolbar yet. I've used it to search with no failures, not conflicts, no slowdowns on my computer and...in two weeks raised over $3 just by searching the web with it.... It costs nothing and you don't have to be a member.
If you can't find it send me a PM and I'll send you something to get you set up on it.

+100
Got this alert in an e-mail today from the NRA.
I figured I'd post it here instead of starting a new thread, so it would bump up this one again.
**** Alert *** Alert *** Alert ****
Dear Fellow NRA Member,
In the next few days, you'll receive your new NRA membership card.
The moment you receive it, I urge you to validate your new membership card as soon as possible. More than ever, we need you to stand with NRA and fight to save our Second Amendment freedoms. Because Barack Obama's campaign promise not to take away our guns is a lie. He's not even in office, yet he's fired the opening salvos in a war against the future of the Second Amendment, our hunting and shooting traditions, and YOU.
Obama's FIRST attack on YOU: Appointing Illinois Congressman Rahm Emanuel to be White House Chief of Staff. In Congress, Emanuel earned an "F" rating from NRA, and while working in the Clinton Administration, he was known as the "point man on gun control." He is an avowed enemy of the Second Amendment and will wield enormous power in the battle for the future of our firearm freedoms.
Obama's SECOND attack on YOU: If Hillary Clinton is confirmed as Secretary of State, she'll rip the Second Amendment right out of the Bill of Rights. She'll be our nation's top diplomat with the power to determine whether the United Nations will pass, and Obama will sign, a global gun ban treaty that will surrender our Second Amendment rights and our national sovereignty.
Obama's THIRD attack on YOU: Nominating ex-Senator and former Majority Leader Tom Daschle-an avowed enemy of NRA-to be Secretary of Health and Human Services. NRA was responsible for defeating Daschle when he ran in South Dakota for re-election to the Senate. If Daschle is confirmed, he could hold the ultimate power to declare guns a "public health menace" and regulate away our essential liberties.
Obama's FOURTH attack on YOU: Nominating Eric Holder to be Attorney General. As former Assistant Attorney General, Holder was a key architect and vocal advocate for the Clinton era's sweeping gun ban agenda. He supported national handgun licensing, mandatory trigger locks, and ending gun shows as we know them.
Just recently, Holder opposed the District of Columbia's Heller decision that declared the Second Amendment an individual right. Holder also called for reviving the Clinton gun bans and, as Attorney General, would fight in court to prevent the landmark Heller decision from being made applicable to state and local governments.
Worst of all, if Holder is confirmed as the nation's top law-enforcement officer, he would control BATFE and wield enormous power to harass gun owners and sue America's arms makers out of existence.
Obama's FIFTH attack on YOU: In the job application for the Obama Administration, he made it clear that gun owners are second-class citizens and told 80 million gun owners not to even bother applying for a job. In the "White House Personnel Data Questionnaire" he asked:
"Do you or any members of your immediate family own a gun? If so, provide
complete ownership and registration information. Has the registration ever
lapsed? Please also describe how and by whom it is used and whether it has
been the cause of any personal injuries or property damage."
This chilling notice to gun owners-that they are not welcome to serve in his Administration-shows the deep hostility for Americans' Second Amendment Freedoms that Obama and his Administration have in their hearts.
On its face, that question endorses gun registration-a mandate in only five states in our nation-and buys into the anti-gun premise that firearms are inherently dangerous and gun owners are prone to misusing them.
That's an outrageous mindset, especially for the President-elect whose sworn duty will be to uphold the U.S. Constitution, including our right to keep and bear arms.
Obama CLEARLY wants to make gun registration the law of the land.
First for employees under his control...AND THEN FOR YOU.
Working with a Congress dominated by gun haters like Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein, John Conyers, Henry Waxman, and Charles Schumer!!!
Rubbing salt in gun owner wounds is the Brady Campaign, which just issued a completely bogus poll claiming that two-thirds of the Americans-including 60% of all gun owners-favor gun registration, licensing of firearm owners, and other sweeping restrictions on our firearm freedoms!
Add it all up and you have the potential for a Second Amendment disaster that's unlike any other NRA members have ever battled.
That's why we need the strongest possible commitment from EVERY NRA member, starting today.
That's why I'm hoping you'll validate your new NRA membership card the moment you receive it.
Because our greatest strength is you.
Only by working with you can NRA hold the line against these threats from every quarter. We are the one force that has the strength to keep Americans free and our rights intact for future generations. With you at our side, we will fight and we will prevail against all odds.
Thank you for your loyalty to NRA and the cause of Freedom.
-
Time for a reminder.
If you aren't a member, please consider joining.
-
Since I am a student I don't have a lot of disposable income. But I saw the "Make Payments" and my wife told me I should join. I am glad that I did.
Remarkably, I don't feel any different...I guess I was expecting change...I guess you have to vote for Obama to get that. ;)
-
It's on. See the Blair Holt push.
Thanos, you're a good man. We need many more good men and women in the ranks of the NRA .
-
Thanos, you're a good man. We need many more good men and women in the ranks of the NRA .
Hey thanks for the welcome, hope you like me, I am a lifetime member now! Although, I don't know if I would call myself a "Good" man, maybe a "Not totally evil man." ;)
-
That Greek philosopher can put away his lamp, we have found a truly honest man on DRTV ;D
-
Once more....it's Friday. If you have a job, and if you can, please help the NRA.
-
Thanks, Rastus....I was thinking it was about time to bump up this thread as a reminder. ;)
-
I hate to repeat myself, but in light of this thread, I will remind everyone that the NRA is running specials at the moment. Upgrade a Life to Endowment membership for $200 and get a Bowie knife to hang on the wall. Buy Life memberships for family members for $300 each. If you're serious about the NRA, these are deals!
-
If you didn't hear this week, the fight is on. The gun ban is coming.
We need you in the NRA.
-
No time to let up. We beat back, at least temporarily the Mexican arms from America threat, BHO's AG boy and the media frenzy.
Time to keep the pressure on. It isn't over....never will be. All are needed now.
-

It is in fact, time to take the offensive. We got National Park carry passed into law, next time Thune ? Vitter comes up we NEED to get it passed !
-
I just renewed for another three years. If I wasn't in a bind right now with the living situation, I'd have bought the lifetime.
-
For those fortunate enough to be unaffected by the current economic miracle, it's payday and a few bucks to the NRA would be a good thing to spend money on.
-
Thread bump:
Got a $725 check from NRA today................. it must be applied to upgrading to Endowment Member level which is $1000.
That is a good deal to bump up by only having to pay the $275 balance.......only one slight problem, I don't have the spare money right now, but they give 90 days to do it so there may be time to scratch it up between now and December. Maybe an early Christmas present?
If not, maybe a purchase from the NRA store or a vendor like Brownells that rounds up for the NRA.
I would urge others to purchase items from vendors that participate in the NRA Round-up program.
Here is a link to vendors who participate:

-
$400 check toward getting Life membership at $1000.
If I was working I would do it in a minute.
-
I hope I get one of those offers! I've been a lifer for several years, and I give a lot to them in donations, banquets and round up programs. However, it would still be nice to get a different sticker or cap to hang in the gun room ;D
-

Mudman has a point, as the greatest gun salesman ever BO DESERVES an NRA membership.
Besides I think it would piss him off. ;D
-
The link to order online no longer works (thanks, tt for posting that). I removed the other post.
Damn, I just got the stuff in the mail today, so I know it works for renewals by mail............. they must have dropped the link for new subs just recently.
Dammit.
Sorry guys. :(
-
I won't comment about the NRA, but remember if you really want to make a diffrence, don't just send them a check and think your done.
Send your reps a letters, call them up, send them emails
if every one in the NRA (~ 4 million) took thier dues( $35/ year) and sent stamps with it... every member of congres( both the house and senate) would get 523365 letters a year, just from NRA members. Think about the message that would send.
If every NRA member would send 1 letter a month, each member of congress would get 89719 letters a year on average.
just from NRA members.
So take the 30 mins a month and send your Reps a letter will ya.

Ok, so which one of us is gonna pony up the cash to sign Maximum Barry up as an NRA member?
I think it would be worth the money just to see the look on Pelosi's face when she found out. ;D
