Alright, I have many pistols NONE of which are 9mm. Have a chance to get an FNH 9mm New in Box for $409.00 at a gun store in my area.
I think MB wrote a review/opinion on this pistol some time back with a favorable perspective.
Anyone here have one? I fondled one for a while at the store, and liked the grip, feel, ambi features, (I'm a lefty), so with ammo prices being what they are, 9mm still seem cost effective...
Any and all good, bad,or ugly reviews are welcome.
FL. has a 5 day wait, until my CCW permit comes back. But I can pay for it Sat. and pick it up next week.
Thank you very much,
Tom W.

No review, FN's are good, you already test fit it, price seems to be great.
So what the hell are you waiting for - go get it!!!!

Love mine. It eats anything I can feed it and I've never, ever, had a failure of any kind (FTE, FTF, lock back on empty) - none. It is more accurate than I am and has very manageable recoil. A pleasure to shoot. I highly recommend them to friends that are just getting into shooting or are looking for a HD weapon. Very nice trigger. It's everything I had hoped the Ruger SR9 would have been - except for skinny. I don't know that it would be my first choice for concealed carry but its a great gun. Mine currently resides in my car.
P.S. No, I don't work for FNH but I don't hesitate to beat the drum for a product that I've had great success with.
P.P.S That's a darn good price. Check their web site and see if they are still running the shooter pack special - a kydex holster and spare mag holster with proof of purchase - to sweeten the deal.

1. Don't have one myself.
2. FNH is touted by most reviewers
3. Looks and feels good to you
4. What the hell are you waiting for?

Great success with mine...it's the only pistol I have (besides the Five SeveN) that the wife can rack without too much trouble.
If you limp wrist it it will fail to feed. I never have had the problem but I loaned it to a guy who didn't hold the weapon with a firm stance...until he changed his stance it didn't feed so well. But, again, for me, probably for you....it would never be a problem.
Light, high capacity and with the double action for that second strike on a faulty primer quite a good weapon at a great price.

Yes...at the Wannamacher's Arms Show yesterday the cheapest I saw was like $450. The 45 was going for $530.
-
Well, I got it, the price went up, guess when?? Tues. the 8th. So, $449.00 out the door, plus tax. (and the 5 day wait).
I went to a range that has rentals and the Sig 229 was awesome but $750.00, It shot really well, but no ambi controls. The FN 9 also shot awesome, fit my hand great, and the money I save will get more ammo and mags.
Thanks for the positive replies. Next Friday (after 5pm), I can get it. ;D
I certainly will post pics when acquired.

TW- I doubt you will be upset at all. I have been working a ton now that the leaves are falling (I work on a grounds crew up here at a Hospital.) so I didnt get to see this thread till. I believe I have talked about this more thank once but you will find people who use their firearms for living choose FN and HK. With the FNP 9mm I love it. It just seems to fit my hand good. I have been waiting for that extra income to go and get the .45. So I hope that it works out for you and you got a good price no matter what. I hope that you have the same amount of luck with the fit and reliability that I have seen FN products have.

I've got the FN9M and love it,you'll love yours too

Got a call from the gunstore, and was informed that since Tues. was a holiday, the 5 day wait will be extended to Mon. :P.
I have others to fondle and shoot, so its no big deal. :-\
At least, I will get it. After January, those evil high capacity pistols maybe harder to get. Might even check out another store for a little "something'. ;D
Thanks to all of you for all the feedback.

Tom;
I believe you'll really like it...the FNP 9mm may be one of the few great gun deals around these days. In mine, the DA is a little heavy, but it's very smooth, so no big. It's an FN, which means it should be a tank.
Let us know what you think of it...

OK....it's been a while. Whaddya' think ? ? ?

After the pretty pics of it all new, I have shot it and shot it, and shot it.
All the info, and opinions from this forum were spot on, the price now for the same pistol at our local Bass Pro is "on sale" for $509.00.
It has not FTFeed or Fire, DA pull is long but good for carry, follow up SA shots are very crisp, recoil is negligible, accuracy is as good as the shooter.
I might change factory sights, they work, but the rear sight notch is twice as wide as the front sight. Creating a chasm for shots using the sights.
Point shooting at 7 to 15 yds, is great, field strips in less than 10 seconds, all kinds of ammo 115gr to 147gr subsonic JHP's, to WWB, mil-surp, just feeds, fires, and ejects, repeat...
Extremely Happy with the FNP9, I am now one of the fellow members here, including MB, that give it two thumbs up.
It is #2 on this list, and MADE IN THE USA!

I think the price around 400 to 450 is fair, retailers may think otherwise...
Here's my 14 year old son, giving it a go on the 4th of July. (He'll out shoot me one day at this rate...)

I'm glad you like it! You put some good observatons in, like DA pull length, rear sight notch size, etc...things I never thing to talk about. I really think this is a good value...my 17 year old used one for training the other day. High capacity, light, DA capability ...all good things. It may not be $5,000 race gun...but at 10 times less it's a jewel.
I'd been holding off on getting the FNP 45...then MB started crowing about them and got me on point again...but I have managed to supress that "need" because of all the $$$$'s spent on focusing on family training lately and planned for the near future. I see an FNP 45, maybe another FNP 9 in my future..so long as BHO and his imps don't ramp up fears again anytime soon, I'll wait until November/December for a purchase hoping prices are down a bit....provided this "economic miracle" of BHO's doesn't put us all on the street.
I scored an extra mag for mine during the winter/spring BHO Administration and Mexican MSM media run for gun control...since this may have cooled down I'm comfortable to wait with a watchful eye for mag prices to come down a bit too.
Subsonics? Got a threaded barrel to go with those subsonic rounds? 8)
I need a threaded barrel for mine...just in case you might know where to find one I've got to ask.

Hello. Sorry for the late reply and this dated report, but it might be of use. Hope you continue to enjoy your pistol:
