Title: Gun frenzy stimulus
Post by: blackwolfe on November 06, 2008, 06:47:09 PM
There appears to be a buying frenzy going on for Sport Utility Rifles, normal capacity magazines, ammo, brass and other loading supplies, and I imagine some other gun sales may be up also.  The demands appears to be quite strong as many ecommerce sites are sold out, but are taking back orders.  I doubt that this is a strong enough econmic stimulus to turn the economy around, but wouldn't it be ironic if this helped to speed up the economy enough to kick start the recovery.  It would make bHo look strong and seem to validate the "change" the sheeple chose.  Gun owners and buyers helping to make bHo stronger.

So would it help if I bought my new guns and all that ammo on credit.  Rolled that into my second mortgage line of credit and then defaulted on the mortgage.   I'd then take a government bailout.

That would stimulate the economy, but sap the recovery costs at the same time.

I'm sure some people would say that would help.  ::)  But, seriously that's how we got here. I hope anyone doesn't get any ideas now.

This would be gun owners making the economy and the country stronger, once again. I'm not certain but I believe I have heard that there are record numbers of new gun purchasers, gun safety class attendance, etc. People who didn't used to have guns are getting them, and that's a good sign.

The one gun control law they need to pass is, if you commit a robbery or violent crime with a gun the penalties are VERY severe. OR if you are involved in criminal activity and have a gun, the penalties are that much more severe.
Then let the rest of us have our guns because we don't break the law.

And then we'll all have ice cream and cookies. Make mine Breyer's Vanilla with Double Stuff Oreos.

Oddly enough, the Stag 6.8 Rem SPC upper I ordered arrived yesterday, just in time to cheer me up. Now I really do have to go finish that lower . . . .    ::)

Just got back from Adventures Outdoors.

I felt kinda of guilty spending the money like this,  BUT-T-T-T-T-T

Looked at the 9mm single-action striker poly's and decided the XD was the best of the lot.   Holster, mag holster, two 15 round mags all included.    I have a 9mm carbine, but I decided in the current state of affairs it wouldn't be bad to have a 9mm pistol around two.

Put a Savage MK II .22l4 with thumbhole stock on order (OKay that's not presently in jeapordy with any AWB, but it's just for me)

Bought $670 worth of ammo.  A case of .223, 100rds of 30carb for my M1, 200 rounds of 9mm, 500 rounds of .22 and .17HM2.  Everything else I reload.

Am negotiating with several dealers for a new upper for my A2.  I want a flattop, free floating varmint upper.

Nothing like an anti-gun president elect to spur gun sales.

I bought an XD-9 on the recommendation of a friend last summer, ran fifty rounds through it practicing, then off to a couple of club matches using it for Production.  I love the gun.  It fits well and shoots where I point it ... Now if I can just point it where I want to hit.

When Bill Clinton passed the AWB and limited magazine capacity to 10 rounds the gun manufacturers responded by shrinking down high-capacity pistols to the size of a 10 round mag (think 3-inch Para P-10 vs. 5-inch P-14). We had Bubba to thank for all the pistols that were so much easier to conceal. Osamabama may inadvertantly do us a similar favor. I think he'll go down in history as the greatest gun salesman of all time with Clinton as runner-up.

well, if they are still available when I get back from this next trip in Feb, March-ish I've convinced my war dept. that we really do need an EBR...  ;D and she says. YES!!!!! so now I have to save a little more for my slush fund.
I love this woman... ;)
