Title: Suarez - Civilian Warfighter Training
Post by: Pathfinder on November 08, 2008, 01:31:28 PM
From Suarez International's website, might be of interest to some folks here. Anyone interested in forming teams to go through this? I've put away the donuts (for me, not the 2-year old cutie who gets a "do-do" once a week on our shopping forays) but I still need to work on getting into shape. But, damn, this looks cool.

Detailed Description

February 19-20, 2009
Civilian War Fighter/Team Tactics
Prescott, AZ

This class deals with learning how to operate in two and three shooter teams and covers, Modified Small Unit Tactics, Moving as a Team, Immediate Action Drills, Counter Ambush Drills, and other things commonly taught to special units.  You will learn the material via small lectures, dry and live fire work, and extended fire drills. To our knowledge, this material has never been available to private citizens, or taught outside of professional government funded schools.

I will tell you for sure that this will be physicially challenging class so don't show up with a bag of doughnuts. It will involve carrying your gear and weapon all day long, as well as requires short sprints, dropping into position and getting back on your feet quickly. Be sure you have a reliable rifle, and understand how to use it bilaterally (both right and left sides).  Be sure you can execute a reload on the move and retain the magazine with you.

In short -
1.   Be in good enough shape to carry all your gear all day long
2.   Know marksmanship and reflexive gunhandling to include the S.I. non-diagnostic malfunction clearences for your weapon(s)
3.   Take care of yourself-all the little things like hydration and the little ouchies we all succumb to from time to time.

This class will be taught by Suarez International Staff Instructor Dan Agakian .

Bring - Range safety gear such as ear and eye protection, Rifle and several magazines (including a way to carry them), Rifle sling and any other tactical gear you normally use.  Bring hydration equipment, food snacks, note taking material and a small first aid kit.  The weather is unpredictable so come prepared as we will train regardless of weather.  Bring about 1000 rounds for your rifle.

Duration:  2 Days  9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Prerequisites: Students must have basic rifle handling skills (NOT FOR BEGINNERS)
Ammunition: Approximately 500 rounds (minimum) - Factory Loaded FMJ Ammo Only Please.
Equipment: Any Rifle, Any Sighting System.  To get more from the class, bring a military rifle. (3) rifle magazines and any ancillary rifle gear.  Pistol, Holster, Pistol Magazines. Eye and Ear Protection.  Knee pads and elbow pads are strongly suggested.

Note: Chest Rig/Tactical Vests are not allowed with CCW Holsters.  If you wish to use a Chest Rig or a Tactical Vest, use a vest mounted holster or a thigh holster.  Blackhawk Serpa Holsters are not allowed in class.

Location: Yavapai Recreational League

Instructor: Dan Agakian and Gabe Suarez

Lots, but not of this specific class. Check out the video lists here -

Mostly his specific personal training, using his force on force training ideas and methods. I have only seen 1 or 2 of them.
