Last AKS I saw was a rock and roller, sure you got your nomenclature right?

SLR95 is the Bulgarian made AK which has the milled, not stamped, reciever. Wrong site for cameras or  living rooms chairs. And if i am not too ding dong about this the correct nomenclature for the non Russian AK variants is AKS but I have been wrong before. Thanks for your patitance folks. I am trying a new avenue after reading the post from 2HOW

I just put my order in with my shops gunsmith and after a long and almost painstaking process I made a choice. I went with a company call CAA(command arms accessories) and got the tri-rail handguard, and railed upper, tactical 6position stock with checkpiece. I will give yall a post range write up after the system goes through the ringer.
Now i just need a good tactical sling. Any suggestions?

No prob. 2HOW, I got the Bulgarian SLR95 in 7.62x39 which has a milled reciever and a better trigger than my AR. Although the AR is still more accurate. Wierd how that works. thanks

I noticed the side mount mentioned in the rifle description that HOW2 posted.

Can anyone point me in the direction of information on how to install that?

I picked one up at a gunshow a couple of months ago, expecting that it would screw in to the side or clamp down after sliding on the side of my Saiga.

However, it does not tighten.  It lays loose, against the side of the receiver.  I assume that some hardware was missing.  Since it came with no instruction, I want to confirm that is the case before buying another.

Also can anyone confirm for me that I would not be able to use my iron sights if I were to install the tactical forearm with rails and mount a Aimpoint there?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

shieldbearer428,If it is the kind with the flip clamp,it needs to be slid on from the rear, you must remove the flip clamp and loosen the tension screw, tap on the mount with a rubber mallet or wood from the back to front position, put the clamp back on and flip it tight to the front.Look closely to see the ridges align with the jaw of the mount and tap it forward until it seats and is aligned properly. I assume its the same with the 3 or 4 screw kind. hope this helps.

I appreciate the help 2HOW.  I was able to get it installed on the Saiga shotgun.  When we went back and tried putting it on, there was no problem.  Originally, I was looking for something to catch the screws on.  I didn't realize that tightening the screws all of the way would cause the metal on the mount to bend and pinch the rail.  For the rifle I went with receiver cover with a rail mount.
