I just watched this weeks video. While this looks like it would be a good pistol I just can't Imagine paying around $1,000 for a 9 MM.
I can understand the whole market, but for those of us on a severe budget can it really be a good option? I already have an XD9 that I paid about $450 of that and I carry a 1911 .45 that cost around $540.
I'm not questioning the quality, but I have the same grump issue with the EMP. It just doesn't seam like it would be a good choice on the budget.
Admittedly, this is more an ARRRRRRGGGHHH!!! than anything else and when time comes for a smaller pistol I've been thinking of a snubbie.
Forgive the rant that may just reflect the fact I need a better job.

I have my eye on a Taurus mil-pro sub in 40 or 45, cant beat it for alittle over 300.00. No need to spend big bucks for a pistol . You pay more for the name than anything.

I've owned and still own Kahr's. The micro polymer Kahr in 9mm is a good little pistol, I also own a Para Ordnance C-6, LDA a 1911 I could honest to God put in a front pants pocket. Still a little tight if you try to get a full grip before drawing. The Kahr is a 500.00 pistol in most situations, and the c-6 go's for 750.00 or more. The polymer Kahr is a handful, but for it's intended purpose it does what it needs. My cryteria for a pocket pistol is to shoot it fast as you can at 7 yards, if all hits are decently centered and within 8". Good enough. If it does better, bonus. When I got my Kahr k40, a friend just purchased a Glock 27, We went head to head and slow fire both would touch bullet holes at 10 yards, I did not like that the Glock would rock enough I would have to regrip every shot,
but in the end I said wait, this isn't a target pistol, I stepped up to the 7 yard line and just cranked, without resetting my grip every time, felt awkward, but guess what? Minute of bad guy. The Para carry 9, is smaller than my c-6, and maybe I could get a full grip and draw from the pocket. I hope one of my friends buys one so I can try it out. My dailey pocket rocket is a S&W 940, with CT grips, 5 shots but it works and hides well as Walt Rauch demonstrated to us.

I put a bunch of rounds through a Sig Sauer P250 today (hits the market in late July/early August, no matter what you read). A very nice little gun! Handled the .45 ACP proto, too...Sig has very good engineers!

I'll admit I do have a .45 bias, eventhough the 9 MM is a fine caliber, especially with the right ammo. If I"m going to drop a grand on a pistol I can mentally justify it better on a .45. A 9 MM being smaller, to my mindset= money especially if there is no engraving.

"I am Jack's raw jealousy" i am having a hard time even getting a good look at the P250 (seems to be the same pics over-n-repasted) and you get to put one through the ringers. OH MAN MY EYES JUST TURNED GREEN!!! ;D

all right Mr. Bane now you have done it. I am totally green with envy. I look like the Hulk man. ;D
Kidding aside that P250 sure specs. out like a great pistol and I wonder who I have to know to see that there is a MAcompliant one. Man-o-man that would be sweet. Especially if the AG doesnt hack the trigger to 10+ pounds. Even then.....MSRP?
Having that much time with the gun did Mr.Bane happen to get a MSRP on the P250? Like all other Sigs its going to be higher than it should be but with the polymer frame maybe i will be suprised.... "hope in one hand and go #2 in the other and see which fills up first" 2 quote my boss.

I was watching Modern Marvels tonight on the History Channel. They were saying an MP-5 runs around $900. IF I could get one that was transferrable then I can see paying around a grand, but it is a submachine gun.
So, my origninal statement about not seeing paying around a grand for a 9mm was slightly incorrect. AGAIN I'm not saying it's not a good pistol, I just can't see paying around a grand for it.

Amen to the Sig engineers comment. I bought a used P220 in .45ACP (mfg'd in 1995 no less! - with minimal wear and only $550). I have long been worried about .45. Like MB I have small hands and doublestacks in .45 are out of the question. So I have focused on 9s and .40S&W (thanks to MB, I can no longer see that without thinking "short and weak").
But this P220 fit like a glove and shot even better. I am now hooked on .45s. So a P250 in .45 - assuming it fits my hand, would be lovely, thank you.
And MB, how'd your begging, uh, cajoling, um, bribing, well, asking around at Sig to get a Sig 556 go, move up the list a tad???

Getting back to the subject . . . or thread. Are you talking about the Para .45 Warthog? I bought one a while ago and found that with my large hands I could not release the safety in the beaver taii, when my palm . . . where your thumb and fore finger is placed, better known as the web of your hand, is placed so that the small pistol would not fire regularily. The gun did not fit my hand well, so if you have large hands, like mine, I would try and rent one before shelling out a lot of money on this small handgun. I'm sure the 9mm would be the same way. It's just the ergonomics of that small handgun.
This is of course, if you are talking about the Warthog. :-\
