I did not catch it any where, but what group or organization is pushing this.

I was just about to start sending e-mails to my representatives when I saw that this idea had already been canned in March of this year in Kentucky.  Luckily, maybe not for him, I know my state house rep. very well (he's my uncle's best friend) and was getting ready to give him an ear full if he didn't speak up for the gun owners of this area.  In reality, he wouldn't have needed the tongue lashing anyway as he was endorsed by the NRA and comes from a sporting background.  I still would have griped at him though, just to be sure he's on the straight and narrow.   ;D

Referred to Judiciary Committee in PA Feb, 2008.  Died a slow, 'orrible twisting-in-the-wind death.

Sounds like a nice feel god law that would not work, but would drive up the cost of ammo.

Sounds like a nice feel god law that would not work, but would drive up the cost of ammo.

It would do just what the primary intent is.  I would drive small ammo manufacturers out of business, and it would raise the rest of ammo costs so high most of us couldn't afford it.  Thus in the long run it would allow guns but we would not be able to shoot them anymore.

Is it just too easy to enforce existing laws, or do politicians simply reject that solution because it doesn't allow them to look like they're "doing something" to fight crime?

It's not about crime, there will ALWAYS be people who will not or can not operate within the rules of society, liberals recognize and accept that. The true purpose is to strengthen government control of the remaining 95+% of the population by removing their ability to resist the encroachment of the "nanny state".
It's not even really about guns, it's about the "mentality of self sufficiency" contained in the "gun culture". If you have a gun you can feed yourself on game, you can protect yourself and your family from danger, you can resist unfair laws.Without the gun you must depend on "government" for these things. after a few generations even the concept will die and the socialists will have the nation of sheep they are striving for.

This is some scary Sh** man,... they list many types of "Assault Rifles" by brand, and semi-auto handguns. That will have to be "regulated firearms"

That's bogus man, I see Florida, NC, and most of the Mid-West aren't listed. Thank God! The map shown in the link, may be the new union if this crap is passed!

"The gun... insures that the people are the equal of their government whenever that government forgets that it is servant and not master of the governed."
Ronald Reagan

Just a small of crap they might sneak in on an omnibus bill and WA-LA! its law....

(3)   A seller of ammunition for regulated firearms in the Commonwealth shall provide to the commissioner for inclusion in the database:

The only saving grace in my blue state has is pro-gun/hunting/fishing Democrats like my state senator who sends me a Hunting Resource Guide and stuff like that every year.
