Post by: leatherman92 on November 22, 2008, 09:15:36 PM
I got my hands on one today, and boy was that fun!!!and I got to shoot a raging bull in .454 it was MUCH lighter recoil than the 500.I think they would both make great pig guns!!realy BIG pigs that is ;D

I don't know about pigs. The .500 might be a more practical gun if Jurassic Park was real.  ;)

I'm sure you could do a Cape Buff with either.  And of course the errant Griz or Black bear.

S&W markets it as able to take any animal on the planet.

Warning ... Gun Porn Ahead !!!

Don't know about anything on the planet or solar system, but it is fast and flat at least 150 yards (haven't tried 200, but is supposed to be).  Only problem is that pop cans don't make good targets  :-[  I go with 20lb lp tanks, and it sends them rolling at 100 yards and closer  ;D

I believe the Pfeifer Zeliska is 3 times as powerful as the .500. That's way too much gun for me. http://www.pfeifer-waffen.at/cms/html/index.php?module=htmlpages&func=display&pid=32 I think that's big enough any game anmal on ANY planet.

From their description:
There won’t be any permanent damage inflicted to your wrist.

That is assuming you can bench press 500 lbs.

holding a 13+ lb hand gun stead is a feat in itself.

I saw the picture...that's a big chunk of metal.  For me, at some point you switch to a carbine/rifle.  However, to each his own and I would like to pop a cap of one of those just to say I did....my insurance is current!

The arthritis in one of my shoulders was so bad I had to get the end of my collarbone cut off so it quit rubbing. After getting everything put back together and six months of physical therapy before I could even use it... I'm as attached to my arms as they are to me.  :)  I'd like to keep it that way. I've grown rather fond of them both. I don't think I could even hold that monster in anything resembling a proper shooting stance unless I had it mounted on a tripod or something. Heck, I probably haven't even shot my .44 in over 2 years.
