I am following the story below with some interest. It is another gun manufacturer who is in desperate need of some PR advice. I just don't get it. What planet (no less country) do these guys come from?
H-S Precision and Horiuchi Confirmed
I just got off the phone with one of their employees about the report that they printed a Lon Horiuchi endorsement on the back of their catalog.
It is true.

An unfortunate endorsement.

Well, I probably couldn't afford one but I'll talk bad about them every chance I get!
-
Got this in an email from my Dad, I see it has a lot of people pissed on AR15.com
It would appear that HS Precision has chosen to use the endorsement of one Lon Horiuchi.

Idiots like this helped get Obama elected by their plain stupidity.
-
This endorsement has about as much appeal as O.J. Simpson promoting kitchen knives.
Fathomless stupidity abounds.
-
H-S Precision; accurate enough to make a head-shot on an unarmed mother who's standing there holding her baby.
If they're going to use his endorsement, they should tell everyone why he faced manslaughter charges.

I'd also like to know why would someone (marshals) would shoot a boy in the back with his nearly shot off arm dangling as he was running down the road screaming for his father....and they identified him as a boy before they shot the dogs. I saw and listened to the testimony on television myself....I'll never forget that part.
H-S has opened up old wounds.

And are rubbing salt in them too.

We ought to let companies that buy from them know how we feel about H-S.
Anybody have a list?

From the blog http://www.waronguns.blogspot.com/ Looks like David Codrea is getting some of the industry to respond to the outrageous and insensitive association of HS with L Horiuchi. The following from Codrea posted this evening:

Statement from Remington on HS-Precision
From AR15.com:
To get this thread back on topic - update from Tommy Millner at Remington:
Because its thanksgiving and everyone is off, we have not made contact with HS. We have taken any reference to HS from our web site..
When you first emailed me I honestly did not recall horiuchi's name so you caught me unawares. I also do not read the blogs so the fact there was an issue came as a surpise.
In any event, HS makes a great product and we are a large customer of theirs. Why they would pick a super controversial spokesperson is beyond me. Doing this violates pure business common sense. Early next week we will use whatever persuasive powers at our disposal to get HS to do the right thing..
Do me a favor and tell those on the bolgs that Remington and I are now fully aware of the issue, in full agreement with the outrage, and will do what we can t exert pressure on HS to reverse course.
Thanks
Tommy

From http://commanderzero.com/blog/?p=716
Lon Horiuchi is:
a) A respected law-enforcement tactical marksman
b) An expert on rifles and rifle usage, whose opinion should be respected
c) A guy who shot an unarmed woman while she was holding her baby and claimed he was ‘just following orders’
By the way, McMillan makes stocks.
Here's a link that tells you who H-S Precision's distributors are:
