Title: Ammo Tax
Post by: a1abob on December 03, 2008, 10:34:24 AM
Does anyone know if B-HO can increase the price of ammo without the congress (executive order).  A dollar a round tax on ammo would do the same as outlawing firearms and yet not touch the 2nd Amendment.  Just a thought.

I believe only the congress can levy taxes but what about a 'fee' to help support the national parks  and conservation? (Rudman Pitman act I believe)

I believe that he can also do it through agency fees like OSHA, or through licensing for manufacture and distribution (also an agency item).

However, these could be stopped or recinded by legislative action.

OSHA actually got involved this past year by trying to implement a fee on ammo storage and shipping.
