LCP on it's way to the Ruger Health Spa to gt itself retrofitted. The only thing that bothers me about this is it reminds me of when I was starting to play golf. I noticed it wasn't until after i got around to buying a sand wedge that I started needing it. Hope this doesn't bode ill for little Elsie Pea meeting the floor in the future... ::)
My Nitehawg is also out visiting family. Had to send the slide back on the Hawg because the front tritium sight was so dim I could barely see it.
A few more issues and I've nothing left to carry, lol.

Sounds like a perfect time to spread some more of your "Wealth" to your local gun dealer.

As long as you have enough to hold out for one week you will be fine. Mine took exactly one week from one week from pickup to delivery, and it came with the extra mag that they said it would plus a fancy LCP ball cap. ;D

"Upgrade"

He-he; he- he, 'UPGRADE"

jaybet, just got my latest Combat Handguns magazine March 09 and they have an article about the retro SR9 and what a good trigger pull it has on it (so much better than the original!).
Might want to pick it up just for laughs!

I got my box today too, after I got home from work, too late to send it out today.
I do admit I got a cringe when I realized what it was, remembering only too well the SR9 debacle er incident er "upgrade". Here's hoping . . .
I really like my Noisy Cricket, hope they don't emasculate the little guy!

I think the niblitniks are so tiny you couldn't find them to geld it.

Might want to put a note in there and politely ask if they will "upgrade" it to a Kahr .380

Or a Kel Tek. ;D

That left a mark!
Except recently, my dealer has had a rash of Kahr compacts (purchased over the last year) being brought back in for FTF issues and going back to the factory...
Do I smell a Kahr upgrade in the works?
ps, bite me, HazTek! ;D

P3AT $285.00, NO problems with any ammo ever.

That's because you paid $6 more than I paid for my LCP. ;D
Seriously, I've no feeding issues other than the cost of ammo.

I have never had any FTF problems with mine, and if i remember right there was a reason that they made two generations of of the P3AT :o

pistol traveling 'First Class' - UPS overnight. Prolly see it back after the new year.

Hey nupe? Any idea exactly what Ruger did to fix - er, upgrade the pistol? It sounded like they were going to make more than one change.

Guess I couldn't tell you exactly what all they did to it. I know on mine they milled out the back corner of the frame where the spent brass was hitting, put in a easier to use slide stop, and it almost looks like they may have put in a different firing pin. Other than that I never broke mine down all the way so i'm not sure what they did to the "hammer mechanism."
-
Thanks. I know there were some reports of the trigger pivot breaking, found a picture.

Wonder if that was replaced too.
Should have asked when I called the hotline to get the LCP picked up. I can always call again.
-
yeah that makes me curious now too. If you do call again, let me know what the result is.

The nice lady that indulged my stupidity said just the hammer for mine as far as she knows. Lower serial numbers also get the machining to stop the case damage on extraction. She did not know if anything else was being done.
-
Wow, that was fast. Pistol arrived today after being picked up by UPS exactly 7 days ago. Shooters cap and a new mag with the extension was included. Hammer was replaced, it definitely has a new hold open.
The letter enclosed states the pistol was upgraded with all the running improvements made as the LCP line progressed. "It is likely the only one you will be able to see is the new manual slide hold-open, but other, more subtle improvements have been incorporated too, and these should make your LCP even more rugged and reliable in the best Ruger tradition."
Dry firing a few times, it definitely seems smoother. I'll take it down and see if anything else jump out as replaced, new, or worked over.

I guess a free hat really does solve everything. Who knew? Maybe next time I'll just give the wife a free hat instead of flowers. ;)

lol, I was never upset over the recall. The pistol was fine before the recall, seems even better now.
I did take a quick look around. My firing pin looks new , and I've go a funny kind of a 'cp' looking stamp next to the .380 Auto stamp. I find it hard to believe they replaced the barrel, but who knows. Trigger pull is smoother, possible they did a quick job on that.
