Title: Introduction
Post by: Harold Green on December 20, 2008, 09:32:44 PM
I registered here way back in April of 2007, but haven’t been active on the forum.  I’m an avid reader of Michael’s blog and often watch Shooting Gallery.

I live a few miles north of Salt Lake City, Utah, have been a shooter and reloader since I was a kid and am now actively involved in defensive pistol shooting.  I was match director for one of the local IDPA clubs for several years starting in about 1997, and am currently involved in running monthly events for the Utah Polite Society (www.UtahPoliteSociety.org).

In polite society events, we simulate defensive situations using the concealed carry guns we use for daily carry.  The simulations we run are very open-ended, different for every participant, as interactive as we can make them, and require the formulation and execution of tactics in real time.  We’ve evolved how we do these simulations over a four-year period, and the methodologies we use are still very much a work in progress.

Are any of you doing anything similar to what we’re experimenting with?  If you are, I’d very much like to talk with you about how you run your simulations.

Welcome!

Even though you are a slow starter I invite you to join in the fun.  I'm sure you have watched long enough to understand us.  However, if you aren't sure we would be glad to give you some tips on how to treat others  ;)

Welcome!  I stomped around Utah for a few years when I was at Hill AFB.  Loved it.  Visit this place frequently...nobody bites and you learn a lot.  Hazcat may try to scratch but I think he's chewed most of his claws off.

All except the ones in his photos.     ;D

Also, welcome aboard Harold.
