Not pimping this site or anything but cops can't hit in a gunfight and how good would you be ???

Sounds like a hell of a deal! Wish I could afford it.

I've been hiding the checkbook for a couple weeks. He is selling some life memberships that people were making payments on and defaulted. Single payment of $1,900 gets you life membership and 11 courses of your choice. Appears to be a hell of a deal, but I keep telling myself I'm not ready to spend that for it right now.

Wonder how Front-sight compares to some of the other gun training centers? It looks like a great place.
Anyone done any of their courses?
-
I understand there had been a lot of legal problems for FS - people not getting what they paid for and all. Haven't heard how it all came out.
Watched his program "Front Sight Challange" a while back and it was quite interesting, especially the shootoff with the weekly winners.

Hello I was pointing out about If cops can't hit what can you do, do you train and shoot or just talk and don't visit the range

There is the whole Scientology aspect of the good Dr. also. I had the oppty to attend a course there but turned it down cause of that...

To be good in a gunfight 1st you need to be REAL LUCKY, 2nd, well trained and experienced, 3rd lucky, 4TH practice all the time, 5th Lucky, 6th, know how to get off the X, 7th LUCKY, BE ABLE TO RUN AWAY, 8th get REAL LUCKY, YOUR ABILITY TO HIT IS ONLY COMPRIMISED BY YOUR ABILITY TO NOT BE HIT, the best defense may be offense, but I find it very offensive to be shot, shooting from cover is the best defense, or not shooting from cover may be the best defense, situation decides, hiding is not cowardly, but may lead to sniping, and that is not a bad thought. ;D
-
Hope that you're very lucky. And never EVER forget that concealment IS NOT cover.

I don't remember who wrote this originally, but I've always thought it to be pretty darned accurate.
Rules Of A Gunfight
1. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns.
2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap - life is expensive.
3. Only hits count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.
4. If your shooting stance is good, you're probably not moving fast enough or using cover correctly.
5. Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend. (Lateral and diagonal movement are preferred.)
6. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a long gun and a friend with a long gun.
7. In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived.
8. If you are not shooting, you should be communicating, reloading, and running.
9. Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting standards will be more dependent on "pucker factor" than the inherent accuracy of the gun. Use a gun that works EVERY TIME. "All skill is in vain when an Angel blows the powder from the flintlock of your musket."
10. Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.
11. Always cheat, always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.
12. Have a plan.
13. Have a back-up plan, because the first one won't work.
14. Use cover or concealment as much as possible.
15. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours.
16. Don't drop your guard.
17. Always tactical load and threat scan 360 degrees.
18. Watch their hands. Hands kill. (In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them.)
19. Decide to be aggressive ENOUGH, quickly ENOUGH.
20. The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.
21. Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
22. Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one.
23. Your number one option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
24. Do not attend a gun fight with a handgun, the caliber of which does not start with anything smaller than "4".
25. You can't miss fast enough to win.

I ran across a slightly different version on another website. oo-rah!

Navy Rules to Gunfighting
1. Go to Sea
2. Send the Marines
3. Drink Coffee

cops are notoriously bad shots. most dont practice firearms. most are just thugs who want to beat you up. I know this from experience, I have many friends in different PDs. They cant shoot worth a shit. I would bet that the average CCW person would score higher on any course. The PD is like the general public ,3%ers who can shoot.

Now what Marine would NOT want a larger caliber like say.....A Trident Missle, a Tomahawk Missle, A Phalanx system or a 16 incher....or take a look at what a MK-48 torpedo can do...makes big things into little things in short order.....
I was particularly fond of Navy coffee and in my job, they sent us all the GIRLS as well....who needs a beach when it's full of craters, I'll take Iceland over Guadalcanal anytime.....
8) ;D

Tim, the Marines went to Guadalcanal to get AWAY from Iceland

Well Tom,
Iceland made the term "foxhole" much more bearable! ;) ;)

Maybe, but 9 months later they wanted to get out of town ;D

I'm glad to see someone else who'll admit that most cops are thugs. A couple of them beat one of my neighbors in the kidneys so bad he peed blood for days, but they never left a mark. They were skilled torturers that would make a dictator proud. That was before he became a priest. After that they didn't mess with him as much. It would cause people to ask questions if they beat up a priest.

I won't go into an officer's personality traits other than to say I have met some very good ones and some very bad ones. Law enforcement officers are no different than the rest of society ... warts and all.
One thing I have noticed in opening our range to officers is that they are mostly average to bad shots. I believe part of it is 1. Some are on a power trip and think they are too good to learn (just want to do what they think is best); 2. Some went into the profession for other reasons and really don't like the "force" part of it; 3. When firearm training became mandatory and routine they lost interest in it; and 4. They have so much training to do they don't take the time to practice like they need to.
