Title: what are these markings on my s&w 36

i just bought a smith & wesson model 36 with a 3 inch barrel, on the left side of the gun below the cylinder it has this writen in the metal. c.a.i. georgia, vt.  what do the markings stand for? thanks for any help.

thanks dharmaeye i was wondering what they stood for, the gun is in at least 98% condition doesn't look like its been used hardly any.
