Post by: Teresa Heilevang on January 21, 2009, 11:03:40 PM
Okay everyone.. Listen up. We have our own Down Range House Band.... at least that is what we like to call it. ;D
(http://www.downrange.tv/images/bluebone.jpg)
Our very own extremely talented Jay Bethel and his band * Bluebone* has got a new CD out. Called " Devil Keep Chewin"
I have it and it is AWESOME. We set this up for you so that you can hear a little teeny bit of 4 of the 12 songs that are featured on the CD.
UPDATE!!!! (01/22/09) Go to his site to buy this CD. This is a special treat for DRTV members! http://blueboneband.homestead.com/cd5special.html
You will not be sorry. It is kick ass, rockin' blues at it's finest. And yes.. it is Jay himself doing the vocals.
Click on the player to hear parts of the songs:
357 Happy Damn Birthday Devil Keep Chewin ( Title song) Party Tonight
(http://www.cascity.com/howard/forum/note.gif)
Love it ..love it.. love it.
Click here to let you read about the CD and the members of the band.

WOW! Thanks M'ette! The fact is, our favorite gun-totin' lass got a pre-production copy of the cd. We're expecting the boxes to be offloaded by the end of the week, and it's exciting. This is our fourth full length cd and we think it might be the best.
When I get home I'll post a link to a web page just for DRTV folks. You won't be able to get to it except from the link, and we'll set up a deal just for the DRTV community.
Thanks again to the M's for the love. (By the way...you can send some of those groupies around any time you want. Even the guys....they can carry equipment)

Now what are the mechanics of putting this stuff up on iTunes? Or even just a tidbit on YouTube?
I'm not up on Youtube...just don't have the time. But as far as ITunes and stuff, it's a bit of a process because there is licensing and stuff. Even though all but one of the songs are ours, they still need to follow the right path. We get the new cd set up on CD Baby and then within a few weeks it gets distributed in digital form to more digital sites than I can count. We don't even know all of the sites that sell, but CD Baby handles the distribution and collection for us. So....a few weeks.

We now have a webpage with a DRTV deal. If you buy the new cd you get a free copy of our 2 song cd that has the We The People hit and a blues song called 5 Pound Heart.
We The People was recorded as a response to 9/11. It features the band plus a couple of guests: Alicia Huppman doing super background vocals, and Real Live Horns: Jay Davidson has performed all over the world with the Funk Brothers, Steve Winwood, millions of others. Steve Jankowski (trumpet and trombone) plays with Blood, Sweat, and Tears, toured with Chicago, and has a platiumn album with Amy Grant. Great musicians and great fun working with them back then.
Anyway, Bluebone has this DRTV exclusive- you can't get there anyway except this link: www.blueboneband.homestead.com/CD5special.html They should be ready for shipping in about a week.
I finally get to share something with my DRTV brothers besides those lousy targets.

"I finally get to share something with my DRTV brothers besides those lousy targets."
And people who played with the funk brothers :o If you don't know who the Funk brothers are, rent or watch , " Standing in the shadows of Motown" Jaybeth is in high company.
Ok I give, order to come soon, but can I get it autographed????

I think the order box has a place for a "Note". Mention the autograph in the note....I think all the orders with notes come to us because it collects comments, reviews, etc.
It's not hard to get MY autograph...just call any one of a dozen mortgage companies.

Once again, we have a special for DRTV members (because you're the coolest!) and you can only get there through this link: www.blueboneband.homestead.com/CD5special.html
If you have a request of some kind I don't think the sales button takes them, so just send an email and tell us your name from the order and what your message is, and we'll try to take care of it.
This is REAL music by REAL old guys who still carry their own equipment and actually PLAY their instruments. It's very old school whoop ass. Sorry....no Hip Hop.

When M'ette is happy, we're ALL happy!
We had a little glitch with some overseas shipping fees, but that has been fixed and we're getting this new cd out all over the world. Thanks to those of you who have taken advantage of this link....it's a good deal and it helps the little guy. Actually I am anything but little, but in the grand scheme our band is little, so that's what you've got right there.
AND the weather has warmed up and we've been getting out shooting and just having a ball. Life is good.

I'm late to this thread but brother Jaybeth sent me his 2008 live and studio CDs when I was hurtin' and I can not praise his band enough!
Covers with his own interpretation and originals that are classics when he writes them!
Just got the 2009CD and I am gonna find out how to get him to the blues fest here.
TALENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep. I like Bluebone's version of B.B. King's "The Thrill is Gone", as well as all the others, but it has always been a favorite of mine and they do it justice.

Hey!....wander away for a couple of days and what happens? People talk about you. Thanks for the kind words. We've got a good thing going, we know it, and we thank God every day for it. (Except for Van, I'm not sure who he thanks, but he's sincere). We haven't done many live gigs lately but we did one last night and I could have used some WD40- RUST! I can still manage to get the licks out, but I was fighting cramps off with strategically spaced screwdrivers...gotta keep yer potassium levels up.
As far as the bootleggin' goes, it's the wild west out there. Copyrights are nearly meaningless. In fact, we sold our customary one copy to a guy in China. Happens after every new release. We've probably gone platinum over there and don't even know it.
I hate to flog the tin here, but please encourage everyone you know to order a cd. That way in a couple of months maybe I can afford another 45. :D
Just kidding. If I depended on music for a living I'd be eating out of trash cans and living in a Whirlpool crate. I'm just happy that you all enjoy it.
