Easy guys, he is going through a rough time right now. Be patient, give him some space and keep him in your prayers - the Cat will be back.

Had a long long talk again with Haz, the Cat..and he ask that I give everyone ( without the hours long detail) a bit of what is going on.

We have all had times in our lives when we are tested to the utmost max. It seems that in those trial and tested times that things just can't get worse ..and then they do.

I told him to post something but right now, he is just over whelmed with staying on top of everything..so because of the amount of work and fighting to keep his head above water.. he told me he had to stay off the forum and concentrate on work until he heals up a bit. ..So he gave me permission and ask me to post for him..
And like a dutiful and loyal "sister" I told him I would.
I am just so sweet and nice that it even astounds me sometimes..  ;D ;D

There are a few of you who already know this.. but for the most part, we have kept quiet , not thinking it was anyones place to say anything.  But now, since I have orders.. I guess it is.. :) sooooooooooo..

Right now, this  is what is going on with Haz.

His accountant ( who has been doing all his accounting and business books ) has been embezzling money from him.  This guy hasn't paid his business accounts at all so everything is overdue and not paid and the company's want their money of course.
He of course was hired to take care of all of this but instead opted to take all the money for the business accounts and has used the money for himself.. plus taken out credit cards in Haz's name.. maxed those out.. and run up other bills along the way.. for his personal pleasures.

Hazcat found all of this out by accident when he went to open up a credit card to be used for the sole purpose of one part of his business and he run a credit check on himself.  :o
Bingo..............it was quite an eye opener.

And after several weeks of Haz.. NOT the police..uncovering evidence.. Haz finally got the police to do something and has had him put in jail.

But before Haz put him in jail ( which took a LONG time because of some unconcerned female detective not doing her job) ... This crooked slime ball of an accountant lied to the police saying Haz threatened to kill him with guns.... so and they came and took all Haz's guns. After LOTS of talk and evidence supporting himself.. He gets them back on Friday. ...  ( That was a HUGE endeavor and Dave ( Haz) has found out just what the legal system is made up of.. * I think you could say.. he isn't impressed*  >:(

Then the accountant also lied and issued a restraining order on Haz's girlfriend.. saying that she broke into this guys apartment ( which Haz owns ) and tried to burglarize him ( another lie and not true)
They were out of town when this supposedly happened.

This creep took a sledge hammer and busted up ( on purpose) a $10,000 kitchen that Haz put in this apartment that he was letting this accountant guy live in.
This guy doesn't have $1.25 to his name.. so forget anything coming back from that.

So the Hazcat family decided to take a break you know, and get away and relax for a few days..
But while they were gone for those few days ( to try to relax) Haz had a mild heart attack.
 ( One of 3 I think)
So part of that 'vacation' was spent in the hospital.  :-\

He gets home and  his transmission went out on his truck.. had to have that replaced.
Then the plumbing went to shit in his house and he had to have it all replaced at a tune of $3,000. He has cement floors and the plumbing was under that.. soooo it had to all be taken up to get to the to the pipes. ..

So basically he is just rock bottom right now..

He counts his blessings on several things though..
His business partner is hanging there with him.. and helping hold things together while Haz tries to get everything back up and running.
His son is an angel in disguise and is such a good kid with tons of support and help for his dad. His girlfriend is standing strong by his side..
And the best is he found out about this scanky slime bastard bottom dwelling river rat now..... instead of next year when he would have had to sell everything he owned to get out of debt..

I told him there are HUGE reasons why he is going through this. There are no accidents in our lives. There IS a plan.. he just doesn't have all the game pieces yet but the scales will balance out for the better.

Feel free to send him PM's and or post on here.
I told him he needed to check in at least and scan some things in the forum even if he doesn't post for awhile..

But have no fear.. THE CAT WILL BE BACK!

I've personally offered some financial help, I don't have much saved back.. but I have offered it non the less.
He declined ( as most of us would) and said he will get it all worked out. He said he isn't giving up and will get his company back in the black.
And I believe him..  :)

He also knows we are here for him in any capacity if he needs us. And I think if he DOES need us in any way.. .. he will ask.
Anyway, he darn sure better.. :)

I'm sorry to hear about everything that has been piled on top of your plate Haz.

I was thinking, and I know that this was done recently but thought that it might be appropiate, but what about another target shooting contest in Haz's name.  If he could be convinced to take the money then great, and if not then something could be done like a giveaway of his choosing.  I know that he can get out of the spot he's in, but thought that this might speed up the process a little.

Anyway just thought that I would throw the idea out there.

Hey Y'all,

Quick up date.  First, thanks for all the prayers and support.  I actually think they worked.  On Wednesday the injunction he had against me was dismissed (the Judge loved that he was in jail).  and now today I went to a bond hearing for him and the judge upheld his bond and issued a "no contact" order to him (with out my asking) so maybe the justice system will work IF I stay proactive.  I also got my guns back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (with out damage....another story for another time)

We are moving ahead and trying to satisfy our vendors and service our customers.  With work and time I WILL survive.  I have 10 years of blood and sweat in this company and it WILL NOT FAIL!.

I have another request for y'all.  My sale managers' wife has been fighting a bad hernia operation that needed to be redone. This started in October last year ans is STILL very worrisome.  Please put Kevin and Patty in your prayers.

I'll be in touch as able and will answer PMs as able.

Luv my DRTV family.

Another update.

We have been working day, night and weekends trying to find the extent of damage.  Right now it looks to be in the 30K area!

Got my guns back, charges dismissed on the 'repeat stalker' offense.

Last Wed went to a bond hearing and got his bonds upheld so that is good.

This Friday (11:30) we have an appointment with the state attorney to see "if there is sufficient reason to pursue" the case.  So once again Joyce ( The GF and my blessing) and I will need to put together the case for the prosecution (Yeah, I thought it was their job, too) so the next several days will be busy fighting with Credit Card companies for records and proving our case to present to the State Attorney.

Life goes on and I still feel blessed by y'alls friendship.  I WILL make this SOB pay the max so I have to stay on top of it as the cops and such do not feel so inclined.  (They were SURPRISED we went to the bond hearing AND got my charges dismissed and guns returned!).  So we have to try and rebuild the company books, keep it running, get cash flowing, etc, etc, etc.  VERY BUSY.

Patty (my sales managers wife) is still not doing well..  Lots of pain and no answers from the Doctor!  Keep her in your prayers, please.

More soon,

Haz

Haz,

Sounds like positive moves for the most part, but that is the view from the outside looking in.  Let Patty know that she has a huge family out here with her, just as we are with you, Joyce and Haz Jr!

I know we have all been promised much more, especially by the likes of President BHO, but you are what being an American is all about - Grab your bootstraps, tug hard and make things better.  You are doing your job in the face of the worst your business could face.  I can't begin to know all and the extent of the emotions you are feeling, but I believe you have the strength to endure (you and the answer to all of our prayers combined).

Hang in there!

Hey Haz, stay strong and push HARD on the cops and the DA. I have BEEN there and DONE that myself, more than twice. Being trusting can really bite you, as you obviously know. Dishonesty is tough to deal with, but dishonesty from those you trust the most is especially tough! It will take a lot more time, a lot more effort and a lot more energy, as if a small business owner has any to spare, to see this through. I know you will and you guys are in my thoughts and prayers. Hang tough and I hope you get "justice" out of the legal system.

I just caught this thread and while the subject matter is grave, I just about fell off my chair when I read this ;D

Haz,

You are a thoughtful and a very open and trusting person.  That is to your credit.  Unfortunately, sometimes people will take advantage for their own gain.  Don't let that change who you are.  Maybe a little more of Pres. Regan's "Trust but verify", but this world is lacking in folks with both your character and drive.  I have no doubt that you will overcome.

Update.....

Had a meeting with the State attorney and the Detective.  They had only found $12,500.00 worth of fraud.  We supplied them with MUCH more.  The State Attorney has decided that they will prosecute (YAAAAAAY!!!).  They think he will probably plead out.  Jail time is unknown (personally I would have no problem throwing the switch if he got a death sentence) but restitution will be part of it (of course I'll never see any as the guy is broke).

At least right now he is starting his third week in jail as we move through the system.

Thanks for the support, y'all.  Hopefully I will have time to get back on the forum in the next couple of weeks.

Patty continues to heal but is in real pain (and she's no wimp).

I'm not sure about FL law, but most most states they have a level system to where  X ammount is a low level felony, Y ammount is a high level felony... etc  etc.  I'm sure thats over the the limit for the low level, and I'd bet its just over the ammount for the next step up.

The bad part is white coller crime does almost no time in the pen.

I have a novel idea that might take care of the issue of punishment and restitution all in one fell swoop!!  Expanding on your idea of the death penalty, let's start a lottery.  $10 a ticket and the winner gets to flip the switch!!  I'm quite sure there are enough of us on here who would buy into that to come pretty darned close to taking care of the restitution.   ;D

Quickie (always the best ;) )

Patty is healing well and her pain level is down.  She had a staff infection that they have under control now.  The wound seems to close 2 cm or so every time she goes to have the dressing changed ( 2 x per week ) so that is good! But it is still big enough for me to stick my hand in so it will be awhile yet.

On my front, in general my creditors are working with me so that is good.  Business is looking up and some new opportunities are on the horizon so the "light" is more than a 15 watt bulb! ;D

Teresa,  I need to talk to Dan.  Can you send me his ph#?

Later I will have some GREAT stories about my guns and the cops as well as the 'justice' system.

Luv y'all,

Haz

Latest...

First, I was bushwhacked by a bunch of DRTV folks with a gift that I still can not comprehend! Rangers Ho!

Next, good and bad.....

Good first.  Business is picking up and I have 2 deals I am working on that could be HUGE! (been there and done that, never got the deals before so....), but business IS picking up.

Bad news...

I had thought it was around 30K after a quick look.  We passed 15 k onto the cops to make the bust (easy finds). We just got thought the small account and it is 9K (so 24K total) and we have the lager (more active) account to go through so who knows where the real number is right now.

He has his arraignment on 3/2 so we have to get through everything this week to give to the DA (meaning I will still be busy for a while).  BTW he has submitted a plea saying he has an 'alibi' (no idea what it might be).

Still gotta give ya the funnies on my turning in (some of) my guns (got them back) and how CLUELESS the deputy was on unloading (almost shot me/himself).  Funny now but still sad as to the thought that this is a Sheriff!

Once more....

Y'all are the most honest, caring, GOOD people there could ever be.  My GF was floored by y'all.  She just did not understand when I said that DRTV was full of good people that I would back anytime for any reason.  I think she understands now.

God bless each and every one of you.

The Cat WILL rise like a Phoenix from the ashes, better, stronger and y'all are a BIG part of that!

New to this forum, just signed up for the giveaways, have found an astonishing group of folks.  Haz, best to you, sounds like your persaverance will pay off.  Never, never never trust a SHERIFF or LEO with guns, they don't have a clue....
I hope everyone who reads this thread will take the lesson being given here and that lesson is nobody can take care of YOU like YOU can.  Be careful with your credit, watch it like a hawk, in this day and age it is one of the most important things to you. We used to have to watch out for petty theft, now they are PREDATORS.

Again, Haz, best to you and yours!

Haz, good to hear things are looking better.
Yes, a lot times LEOs and guns don't mix too well.  I worked for Albuquerque PD as a civilian in the armory, taking care of their firearms, pistols (S&W Model 10) and Remington 870s.  The LEOs should have been sent to jail for child abuse.  I would find candy wrappers in the shotgun barrels and the pistols were on their way to becoming junk.

The 'gun' story (yer gonna love this ::) )

Deputy Dog (Sheriff) shows up with retraining order.  Asks if I have guns (they are mentioned as cause in the restraining order) so I say "yep".

He says "Gotta turn 'em in.  You can do it or you can give 'em to me now"

I figure now is easier so I say "Sure, got 'em right here" (shocks the hell out of him).

He says "I need to come in and get them"

I say "OK"

I point to the place where my wallet and daily pocket stuff is piled on top on a cabinet in in the living room.  He walks over and can't find my KelTek in the pile!  So I point it out to him (BTW my Redhawk 45 was IN the same cabinet. ;D ).

He picks it up and starts to fumble with it.  First he starts to jack the slide (mag still in) and gets a round stuck in the port!  Then he figures that is not right so he starts fumbling some more!

I say "STOP! Yer gonna shoot some one.  Please let me do that."  He reluctantly hands it over and lets me unload it (while he stands back with his hand on his weapon).

"Gee, that's a real little 22 ya got there. Sorta hard to operate." says the idjit.

Says I "It's a .380 and works like and semi-auto"

".380!!!" says he.  "Well where is the other one ya said ya had?"

I take him to my bed room where my .357 SA is under my pillow and point it out to him.

He grabs it and says "Real pretty gun ya got there!"

I say "Yep, and it's about 50 years old so ya better take real good care of it".

"50 years!" says he "Wow, you take good care of yer guns".

This is where more fun ensues.

He tries to swing the cylinder out by force and keeps looking for a button to push to help him.

I say "It's a single action, you know, a cowboy gun." (knowing he has NO CLUE as to what that means"

I let him fumble a bit more then "PLEASE! you have to open the gate and half cock it to rotate the cylinder to unload it" (clear directions for anyone that knows more that which end the bullets come out).

BTW at his feet under the bed is a fully loaded AR! :D  AND my Ishy is (loaded) and sitting behind the bedroom door (the dip stick didn't even notice it!)

We step into the living room where he starts to try and follow my directions.  He is playing with the gate and trying to turn the cylinder and I keep saying "I can do that, be careful, etc".

BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I have a .357 size hole in my ceiling and a REAL surprised looking cop on my hands. (now what do I do??)

First I disarm him. (He meekly gives it up).  I then proceed to unload it and set it aside.

He finally starts to stammer about reports and yada yada.  I say "Hold on, let's see how bad it is"  I get a probe and find that the round had struck a roof beam so I do NOT have a hole in the roof.

"Listen, I don't have a big problem here so let's just forget that happened. You be REAL good to my guns and I'll say 'no harm no foul'. OK?"

He of course readily agrees, we finish the paper work and he leaves (with my guns).

When the smoke had cleared and I could go get them back I went to the evidence locker to pick them up.  The clerk says "These must be really valuable guns.  The sheriff called me every day to check on them"  She then handed me my guns individually wrapped in a cotton cloth.

:D :D

Haz, that Deputy Dawg shooting a hole in your ceiling story just made my day. It always amazes me how some people won't ask how to do something, when they don't know how to do it themselves. I recently had a sister-in-law call on me to unload all of her husband's guns, when she put a restraining order on him. He'd told her they were all unloaded, but all 3 were full mag, 1 in the pipe. I also had a neighbor bring over an old S&W 1917 revolver with the hammer cocked on a loaded cylinder. She didn't know how to uncock it and had it that way since her husband had passed 8 years before. She'd stored it in a closet, cocked, in a room where her grandchildren always played. They'd never found it, luckily.

Paperwork.  Fill out the paperwork.  That's your leverage.

You had your hearing damaged, right?  That's worth a bunch (not saying you'll actually go through with it, of course).

Now get their departmental legal representation involved and....voila', everyone is suprisingly focused on helping you with your case.

Not to mention the hassle factor they can employ on the neer'-do-well.  This will go a long way towards him paying something back....if the LEO's make it a personal thing with him.

And yes, my children get more training in one day at USSA then Tulsa County gives it's officers in total.  Remember...even though they carry a gun, many/most are not gun people.  They become police officers for other reasons than guns.......

Sorry to hear about the hole Haz.

One of the biggest worries that LEO's had before Ohio got CCW is not knowing how to clear handguns of accident victims.  I was worried too...worried they'd shoot someone!

I have been lurking here for some time and have always enjoyed reading your posts Haz.  However, I found it especially interesting that when so many people were telling you that they were praying for you, you graciously thanked them, but asked that their prayers be sent for your partners' wife as well.  That shows why you will come out of this situation a survivor, and more than likely, better off than before.  Thank you for showing the true meaning of "Grace Under Fire."

On a different note, I have a cousin who is a Pinellas Co. Deputy, and knowing him, it would not surprise me if he was the knucklehead who ventilated your house.  So, just in case; sorry about that, and I will give him a nice whack on the back of the head the next time I see him!  ;D
